Ideal for NEC events
Booked last minute for two nights for an event at the LGArena, On arrival, met by polite and efficient check in staff, who allocated our requested quiet room on 3rd floor. The room itself, although perhaps a little small, was very clean, had tea/coffee making facilities, a flat screen TV and the walk in shower room. All in all, very satisfied with the room and was quiet as requested. Access from the Ramada to Birmingham New Street is easy by Train from the station, about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The bar area off the... more
Fab for overnight stay and to park car while on holiday!
Booked into this hotel with my two children (as part of a group with another family) so we could make a 7am flight the next morning without having to stress on the M40. Following their directions we found it no problem, very smooth check in followed. Staff on the desk gave us directions to the monorail (free) that we could use to get to the airport, approx. 5 min walk from the hotel..easy walk even with small children. Room was modern, clean and comfortable....with everything we needed. The next morning the requested wake up call was right on... more
Repeat stay and further review
IT is not often that I see reviews from people who have returned to a particular hotel. I forst stayed at the hotel at the start of June for one night. I liked the accommodation and went on to try some others in the area. Guess what, I came back to the first one I tried. Best in the area for the price. Rooms are spacious, clean and have all the things required. It has a hairdryer, walk in shower, clean towels and linen. From this you may guess I have stayed at some terrible places. Well I have stayed here for 9 nights so far in July and... more
What a rubbish hotel
Despite a confirmed booking, when I arrived at 10 pm I was told hotel was full and had to drive to a hotel the other side of Birmingham. no good if you are attending the NEC or want to meet up with colleagues for breakfast. Complained to Ramada about poor service, told they would investigate but heard nothing. not what you would expect from a big hotel chain
Great NEC location, not great for extended stays.
Nice bright rooms, for the most part very clean, but lacking in things that make an extended stay comfortable. E.g.: not much place to hang clothes or unpack. Staff was doing their best to keep up with a large group of demanding guests while I was there, and for the most part they were friendly, however I did have to keep checking back on a daily basis about missing laundry until it finally turned up, five days later. Pleasant personalities go a long way, but I didn't see anyone going above and beyond. Breakfast buffet was... more
Hmmmm
This was a last minute hotel and got the room for 50£ instead of normal rate of £160. I really woudnt pay that much for this hotel. Its nice in the lobby area. I was given a dirty room at first had to swap from one side of hotel to other. The rooms are average no wardrobe or storage space tho but was spacious enough for travel cot. View not great but we saw alot of rabbits. they dont advertise they do room service but they do. bar is over priced and the light meals they do are average to be honest i had spinach raviolli i could have done... more
Great service, nice rooms, but where is it?
Like the other reviewers it took me a few attempts to find the hotel. It had only been open a few months when we stayed and to be honest it was virtually empty. It felt very 'new' (as it should) and the staff carried a certain sense of pride. The room and general interior was very good. The staff were very welcoming and took an interest in our stay. The location, let's be honest, is not so glamorous. It does back onto the NEC, which makes it convenient if you are attending a show, but doesn't make for picturesque views. The... more
Lovely smart, comfortable rooms, clean and good food! Great.
The hotel is ideally located for the NEC, and much cheaper than those located right next to the NEC. The location otherwise is a little sparse, not much near the hotel as it is based on an industrial estate. There is ample free parking onsite, and the recption staffwere friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is very clean and airy, with lots of light. As it is a new hotel the rooms are well equipped and comfortable. My room had a double bed, flat screen TV, desk, tea making facilities, a leather sofa and hair dryer etc. The bathrooms are... more
Difficult to find by car.
This hotel is very difficult to find. you need to follow the signs for Elmdon trading estate as that is where the hotel is situated. Excellent value, clean, spacious with a minimalist feel. Good position for NEC about 5 minutes walk away. Also handy for station and airport.
The Hotel that can't be found.
Great hotel, super clean, spacious rooms, modern minimalist decor, every convenience. One problem is that if you intend to go there on foot from the NEC or Birmingham International Station, the place just can't be found. There are no directions available at either of these major sites. I appreciate that the hotel has only been open for a few months but this, from a company of Ramada's repute, is amazingly poor. In the end and quite by chance, whilst walking over the "glass bridge", between NEC and station, I noticed a small direction... more
Outstanding service under difficult circumstances - well done and thank you!!!
I arrived at 6pm with my friend to attend the Holistic Health Show at the NEC the next day and after a polite, simple check-in went to our room. Oops, it was a double and although we're friends, we're not THAT friendly! A quick call to reception and 5 minutes later Duty Manager Arron Davenport knocked on our door and carried our bags to a twin room. Both the rooms were spotlessly clean and contemporary, including the bathrooms, everything you need for an overnight stay. The double room was a good size but the twin even more spacious.<br... more
