Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham

I stayed here on a Friday night in Jan 09 and got a fantastic rate of £42.99. Location is great - very central and easy walking distance of the main shopping area of Cheltenham. There is a leisure complex over the road consisting of a CineWorld cinema, and various (mainly chain) restaurants such as Frankie & Bennys, Prezzo, Nandos etc. Hotel customers can get a discount at many of the restauarants and also get free acess to Fitness First (gym & pool) which is very good. I stayed here with my Husband and the in-laws after a day at the races. We have travelled down to Cheltenham a few times before and stayed in hotels and B&B's in the area. This Holiday Inn offers a brilliant location and great value for money compared with other hotels in the area. The rooms are everything you need for a short break. Holiday Inn's are all up to a standard quality, clean, good bed, good shower and plenty of tea bags in your room! This hotel would be a little tricky to find but no problem as used satnav. Parking for the hotel is NCP opposite and charge was refunded by the hotel. Check-in was the only point I could complain about as it took quite a while, other than that the hotel was brilliant, very nice continental breakfast, great location opposite a small shopping centre and not far to walk to the main shopping area, the main good point was the cleanliness...immaculate hotel! I would definately recommend!

Stayed here in May 2008 tto watch Doncaster play the local side in the final match of the season, finding the hotel was very easy and parking was in the large NCP opposite which has a special arrangement with the hotel so excellent value and you know your car is safe, the hotel itself is modern and very clean, we had a few drinks in the bar and found the staff very friendly, the rooms are usual Holiday inn standard which is excellent, breakfast the next day was pretty good and would certainly stay again.

Booked through Late Rooms and got room heavily discounted, would not have been happy to have paid list price. Hotel clean and well located for Cheltenham Town Centre, offers discount card for the various restaurants at the Brewery Development opposite which was an added bonus, as was the discounted parking at the NCP nearby. My partner booked this hotel for just a one night stay after a day at the races. We found the hotel very clean and modern, our room was lovely and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We have stayed in far more expensive hotels and got a lot less, so were pleasantly surprised. There is a cinema and restaurant complex just across the road whare you can get discounts if you show your key card too. impromptu stay in Cheltenham found us at the Holiday Inn after nearby Premier Inn was booked and didnt offer Breakfast. The Brekky was the big decider and the fact that knowing it was new made us think they would inevitably be good in trying to 'woo' new custom. arriving quite late and in a 'race against time' for a car parking slot the reception staff weren't that welcoming. OK, the good things first: ** We booked online a week ahead at a rate of £69 for a Saturday night. The hotel is brand new and very modern with a nice bar area and large outside enclosed terrace. Check in was efficient and our room was ready at 11:30am. The hotel did seem very quiet though. In the room, they only have a very tiny opening window and our air conditioning would not turn down below 27*C which made the room very uncomfortable. The shower also had no pressure and the only way to achieve this was to turn it to cold. These may have just been opening teething problems given the hotel had only been open for a few weeks.

Just a few comments to add to the only review posted thus far. Parking is in the NCP across the road, fully camera'd and bright and secure feeling. pay in the hotel for it and it is half price ar £3 per night. Located just five mins from the city centre this is a new addition to the Holiday Inn Express chain. New airy bedrooms with plasma tv, functional bathroom, large shower, a good choice for a night or two. Internet access available in room but you need a cable from reception. Breakfast in the hotel was continental style, basic but fine. Lots of restaurants located nearby.
