I booked this hotel as it was half the price of the hotels in Abu Dhabi for a four or five star. Brilliant decision- it's a new hotel with lovely decor and staff that are really friendly and eager to please. Best experience was when i went on a day trip to qatar- i realised at airport i had forgot my passport. One call to the hotel and they got my passport out of the room and the hotel driver got it straight to me so i made my flight- now that's service. Stayed in Crown Plaza Abu Dhabi for a few weeks on business. Still a new hotel and some teething problems. One night was woken at 1am by drilling and a hammer banging not far from my room. I immediatly telephoned the reception to complain. I was told that no work was going on at present so there was nothing they could do. 30mins later when this noise continued I telephoned again and asked to speak with the manager. Hotel is good but no privacy from KULLUM
If you plan to stay alone hotel is excellent. Staff is very much co-operative, it is silent place and no pollution. There is a major flaw in design of wash room. Entire washroom has transparent glass with no lock to the door and there is blind outside the washroom which is to be kept closed always else you may get shock of your life if you have grown up children. Hotel managment should have kept some decorative poster inside the washroom on the glass or decorative vinly sheet from inside to respect the privacy.Management needs to... more

I needed a room for one night, as I had a 22 hour wait for a flight to Manchester. I asked at the airport for any recommendations, and both a security guard and the tourist information, recommended this hotel. Unsure what to expect, I was more than pleasantly surprised at the excellent greeting I received when arriving at hotel. The staff could not be more helpful. Love the pillows, hate the bath-room.... from hellofawoman
Soft pillows and a calming pillow-spray, nice idea. Didn't like the idea with with a big window with blinds that replaced one of the walls in the bath-room. OK if you stay alone, but if you share the room feels like no privacy. Hair-dryer not possible to use due the short wire (ok if you sit on the floor but then you can't see the mirrow...) Nice pool.OK gym. Nice staff. We would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for the last leg of a return trip from Oz. The idea was to recharge the batteries and just chill out. The hotel is on Yas Island. If you want to visit Abu Dhabi city you are way out of town and will a car (risky!) or pay for taxis. It is ideal for the circuit and marina as these are just a short walk way. we arrived late at the hotel after being collected by them. We arrived and no-one helped us with our bags & after getting to the front desk I waited 20 minutes for the person to complete the check-in proceedure which was far too long. I ordered a rare steak off the room service menu (US$40) to have it arrive at my room cooked well done. To cut to the chase - while the hotel itself is lovely and Stills restaurant has great staff, food, and the night we were there no annoying crap band, there are some problems. Hotel rooms feature the "all window" bathroom wall between bathroom and bedroom. Who thinks this is a good idea? Plus the blind is mounted on the bedroom side - nuff said. We spent 6 nights in the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi (Yas Island) in early Dec 09. I believe the hotel had only just opened the month before for the Formula 1 race but this wasn't evident from the quality of service we received. We were very impressed by our whole experience.
