Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi

Stayed twice now at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi. Good location for business trip to City Centre. Attentive staff and well equipped rooms. Easy to arrange car/taxi. Hotel restaurant was quiet and discrete. The Irish Pub was noisy and chaotic for an off-line evening. The poolside area and buffet made a good venue for an informal business lunch.

This is a standard business hotel. The service was great. However we stayed in the old tower, so the bathroom was a little run-down for a 5 * hotel. The bedroom itself is okay, nothing special.

Having previously stayed at the Beach Rotana, I opted for Le Royal Meridien to be closer to the Corniche and the main business area of the city. I have to say I was not dissappointed. The rooms were big with fabulous views of the Corniche and the public areas were really nice. I didn't try any of the restaurants so can't comment on the food but if I was ever to return to Abu Dhabi, this would be my hotel choice. This is a review about the ROYAL Meridien Hotel at Khalifa St.. Mind that there is also a "Le Meridien" in Abu Dhabi which is a bit older. The Royal Meridien is a tall structure built in 2005. The hotel is almost directly on the seafron (Corniche). My room was on the 21st floor and I had a great view onto the sea. The hotel itself is actually comfortable and clean. It has all the facilities that you could wish for, however there are issues for women and I would not advise women to travel here alone. For a start I have never met so many prostitutes in a hotel night club before. Talking to one lady - apparently 90% are so. Outrageous! You may also get stopped at the lifts asking for ID. I have now stayed at this hotel five or six times. Both whilst on business and on holiday, with my wife and our 15 year old daughter, I have always found all the staff to be the friendliest and most efficient I have encountered when travelling. All the restaurants are great. I am particulary fond of the rotating restaurant, at the top of the building, whose manager could not be more charming and helpful. I have stayed twice at the Meridien in Abu Dhabi and both times the service and rooms were excellent. The rooms are very spacious with superior mattresses and bedding. The bathrooms are modern and clean although not as recently renovated. The downside is there is no high speed internet in the rooms. The pool area was very clean and service was very prompt. I would like to summarize my 3 nights stay...fantastic! the atmosphere was excellent, the food and the service. The hotel had the best Ramadan Tent in the city. One advice, just stay there and you will not be disapointed.

Just got back from a 4 night stay at Le Royal Meridien, Abu Dhabi. Arrived at hotel & were advised that the Superior Room that we'd booked wasn't available but we could have a standard suite instead. Although unrefurbished it was a nice room and we enjoyed the extra space. On the first night we ate at P J O'Reilleys, the Irish bar. It was fairly busy with a live band. I spent a week at this hotel with my girlfriend for a holiday, the accomodation, service, food, and amenities were some of the best I have seen consistently. I travel for work and spend most of my week in hotels and so feel that I am a good call for a review. On arrival the receptionist advised that as we were staying for a long time (6 nights) we would be upgraded to a junior suite.
