Holiday Inn Express Stansted Airport

I stayed here on a Sunday night prior to a morning flight from Stansted the next day. Arrived at about 9pm on a Sunday evening. Check-in efficient. Parked car in hotel car park overnight (charge of £4.00 per night for resident parking while staying at the hotel). Took car to BAA mid-stay car park the next morning. Used this hotel before so it was safe bet for an stay before an early morning flight the next day. Hotel bus pick up fine, check in quick and the rooms are clean and functional. Strange how I really like the shower rooms in HIE, this one was very clean and fresh (as opposed to a grubby Marriot a few days before). Had a drink at the bar, which does get very busy. this was great for staying in 1 night before an early morning flight at stansted. The food was slightly overpriced and microwaved, but that's what you expect. The rooms were very clean, nice shower. And the deal with the parking in the midstay is excellent value!

stay hear on 4th july befor flying from the airport, room was very nice and modern , bed very comfy, had dinner and brekie at hotel both were good thow not outstanding!, staff were plesent and helpfull thow they didnt seem to be enough of them! 1 person was working reseption and bar! as most reviewers have said the shuttle does not run between 12 and 4! a bit silly in my opinion, the only other prblem was i am a priority club member and the hotel failed to credit my acount with the points! so any one elce who is a club card holder watch... more

Very quick check-in and spotless room on the ground floor. The mattresses were very thick and the beds extremely comfortable. Staff were friendly and courteous, and the breakfast was fine, and very handy at 6am (not all hotels I've stayed in start serving so early). Did not try the restaurant/bar food, so can't comment on that. The only reason I haven't given the hotel 5 stars is because you can't get the shuttle bus in the afternoon. We chose HI Express Stansted Airport because of some nice stays at HI Express hotels in the center of London. I booked a reasonably priced twin room almost three months ahead of our stay in May and requested a quiet room because of a long, stressful day before our arrival. When checking in we got a room on the ground floor which was spacious and modern with a nice bathroom. Nice hotel for a trip in or out of Stansted. The rooms are small but stylish and spotlessly clean. I agree with the previous reviewer - why the shuttle doesn't run between 12noon and 4PM is a complete mystery. We arrived at Stansted at 2PM, so we had to take a taxi to the hotel.

This is a clean, modern, stylish hotel that is perfect for a stop-over before embarking on your flight. The park and stay scheme is easily booked through the website and offers good value for money. Decent restaurant and bar and reasonably sized rooms. Efficient transfer service to the airport terminal, only failing is that it stops running from 12.00pm until 4.00pm.

Stayed here for 1 night before a work trip of 4 days. The 8 day stay, park and fly deal hadn't been explained to the person who booked the rooms and so to be told the bill would be another £ 30.00 on top of the £ 80.00 already due was a bad start. We stayed one night at Holiday Inn Express Stansted Airport mid-April 2006 and found the hotel to be inviting and great value for money. The rooms were spotless and a good size, even for a family and the bathroom was very modern and light. The decor is much better than most cheap hotels and looks exactly like it does on the website, not something that can be said about many hotels. Spent one night here at end of March. We were on way to Trieste from Northern Ireland and had to get flight from Stansted next morning. Hotel was convenient to Stansted. All services necessary to travellers in transit, including hotel shuttle bus, quick check-in, quiet room, efficient shower, speedy breakfast, etc. were on hand.

The Express by Holiday Inn, Stansted Airport, London, is fantastic. A nice departure from the sameness that pervades the hotel industry. We were especially delighted by the room. However, arriving late and being travel weary and hungry, we were also pleased by the willingness of the staff to be of help. The front desk had a large bowl of fresh fruit.
