Sun Island Villas & Spa

Outstanding, gem of a place in the middle of Seminyak! We stayed in villa 9, a two bedroomed deluxe villa . Suited us perfectly. The Bintang supermarket is just up the road and restaurants and cafes abound on Seminyak road. Shopping in Seminyak is excellent with gorgeous little boutiques all over the place. The staff at Sun Island are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend, we would definitely go back. One word of warning! I think the beaches nearby are awful. My wife and I stayed in a luxury villa for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The layout provides plenty of room to relax and the plunge pool works great when you get back from a long walk in hot, humid conditions! The name is now Sun Island Villas and is on the main road so it can be crazily busy right out the front...but to escape inside is like going to a new world! Its now known as Sun Island Villas, not Aston anymore. We stayed for six nights and had booked the one bedroom deluxe but were upgraded to the two bedroom upon check in !!! We were travelling with our 6 mth old baby this was our 11th trip to Bali, first time with baby ! They told us you have a better chance of being upgraded if you have booked the deluxe rather then the standard. I have recently returned from a week staying at the Sun Island Villas. We (being 3 girls) had booked the basic villa but were very happy to be upgraded. They bought an extra bed in that was a good size and very comfortable. All three of us loved the location and the staff were young and very friendly. The villas housekeeping would come in daily and freshen the place up for us with clean towels, sheets etc. The plunge pool was very cold as it never saw the sun but we spent a bit of time around the large pool by the restaraunt... more

First of all, I got my poolside villa at a tremendously discounted travel industry rate. The original room charges are frankly not exhorbitant at all, so I'd have to say I got a steal. The villa is located smack in the middle of Seminyak, home of the best restaurants in Bali (Ku De Ta, la Lucciola, Oberoi, Warung Made etc). It is not big, with I'd say about 30 villas in total. After being put into the wrong room to begin our holiday at Aston Sun Island and having the staff try to fudge off our room for the delux which we paid for we were the next day moved the right room. The staff from this point on were very helpful, apologetic and friendly, always greeting you with a smile :) The motel grounds are beautifully landscaped and manicured. My partner & I recently stayed at the Aston Sun Villas in Seminyak and it was absoluately fantastic. The staff where very friendly and efficient, the grounds were picture perfect and the villas very modern and very very comfortable. We didn't want to come home. Our stay was perfect - we would definately return and recommend this place to our friends.

We stayed at the Aston Sun Island Villas in may 2007. We stayed for 9 nights and really loved it. We split our trip in two and stayed at the Aston Resort and Spa in Nusa Dua/ Tanjong Benoa first for 7 nights then stayed at the villa's for 9 nights. I stayed at the Aston Sun Island Villas with my wife and we really enjoyed the experience. The one bedroom deluxe pool villa was exceptionally well appointed, spacious and well designed. The staff were also exceptional. The property is ideally located in the heart of Seminyak and is a 10 minute walk to arguably the best beach in Bali.

I had a great stay in Aston Sun Island. Despite being located in Seminyak, the "in" place of Bali, I wasn't distracted by the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The staff was great and the food too. But the most important thing was the facilities and services they provided e.g. PERSONAL BUTLER SERVICE and the spa was amazing. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family and I can't wait for my next holiday in Bali.
