Holiday Inn Sunspree Mazatlan

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree from Feb 7 to Feb 14 of this year and all I have to say is what an amazing hotel. The grounds were clean and well kept and the pool was big and heated. The pool was one of those models where it looks like you are swimming in the ocean. The beach was great they had these huge umbrella like things made out of palm tree leaves to protect you from the sun and their were always tons of beach chairs for you to use. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree in Mazatlan Jan 22-29th. We had a wonderful time! My husband and I along with our 3 kids 17,10,6 had so much fun in the ocean and the pool. The hotel was beautiful. We had 2 ocean view rooms with balcony. What a view! Very nice pool and grounds. It was farther away from the main hotel area but we liked the walks! My wife and I with our 3 children, 20, 18 and 17 just returned from what I believe was the most memorable 2 weeks of vacation ever had by this family and the Sunspree greatly contributed to it. From the cleanliness of the resort and the beauty of it's gardens, that I think are second only to the Torres, we had the best of both worlds due to the Sunspree's better location to the gold zone. We brought out 2 kids to this wonderful hotel last year, ages 1 & 4. They had a wonderful pool section, and an on site daycare. The woman Juanita, who took care of our son was so great, he had the beast time doing projects, and playing on the beach. The hotel also offered personal babysitting services. The location was wonderful, prime spot indeed. It was far enough away from the noisy nightlife that our kids (and us) slpet with no problem; and close enough to access the Mazatlan attractions. we would never stay any where else.

My husband & I just returned from our trip to Mazatlan. We were there from January 9-16th. We both loved the Holiday Inn. We had a wonderful Ocean view room on the 5th floor. We were able to see (and hear) the ocean and the pool from our balcony. The rooms were very comfortable and even had a small kitchen (fridge, sink, microwave, etc). The bathroom was very nice as well--big shower. The beds are a little hard, but not too bad. The only area that the hotel could improve on is the fitness center. My boyfriend and I just returned from a fantastic trip to Mazatlan. After reading many hotel reviews on tripadvisor, I chose the Holiday Inn Sunspree. I am delighted to say that our experience was wonderful. Upon arrival at noon on January 1, our room was not quite ready as check in isn't until 3pm. However, about 20 minutes later, we were in our room overlooking the beautiful ocean. I requested an ocean view, balcony, and non smoking room. I got all three. The entire 3rd floor is non smoking. The Holiday Inn in Mazatlan is a very nice hotel. The price is very good but the location is excellent: right at the beach. In front of the hotel it is not recomanded to get into the sea because there are a lot of stones, but if you walk a few 100 meters to any side you can solve this problem. The water and the sand are perfect! (It is not Cancun, but it is clean!) The hotel has a very large swimming pool connecting one with shallow water and a deeper one. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree March 28-April 4. My husband, daughter (14), myself. We had a great time and would go back in a heartbeat. This was our daily drill: My husband and I snuck out each morning for breakfast so our teenage daughter could sleep in - we went to Fat Fish (about 2 blocks north of the hotel). Breakfast was wonderful! You got a big plate of fresh fruit, and then either eggs/hashbrowns/bacon/toast or French Toast/bacon or Pancakes/bacon for $4.00 - all included your cofffee. What can we say! We were there from February 19-26th and what a great time! Can't for the life of us figure out why it's only rated a 3 star. Pool was spectacular and having the privilege of an ocean-view, absolutely breathtaking. What can we say about the staff. Every morning we were greeted with a warm and friendly smile and once they knew your name, never forgot to make the greeting more personal. I would say the Holiday Inn was really just average. It wasn't terrible but it certainly wouldn't be my first pick for some place to stay in Mazatlan. The rooms were sort of generic with the expected amenities. The little mini-fridge was a nice touch though and it came in handy for storing snacks and water.
