Accompanied husband on his business trip and stayed at The Radisson Residence on Dubai Marina for 7 nights. Upon check-in, we were kindly upgraded from a studio to a one-bedroom apartment which was really nice for a week-long trip. The room interior is generally modern with 2 LCDs and comfortable sofa and chairs. The room temperature was perfect for a boiling day as well as throughout the night. Large rooms and free Wi-Fi, modern style. TV and DVD. That was the positives. Breakfast in the restaurant is OK, nothing to brag about for 70 AED. All facilities are split genderwise, so forget about sharing time at the pool with your spouse! The female swimmingpool is indoors, so no sunbathing for you girls No alcohol available of course. I stopped over at the Radisson Blu recently with my wife, and whilst the hotel was nice enough and the staff friendly, I was informed of a worrying new policy. The pool has been out of action for around two months apparently, but on speaking with one of thre residents I was told that when re-opened the pool and poolside sunbathing area would be OUT OF BOUNDS TO WOMEN! No pool or restaurant from KANDO71
After looking carefully at reviews and management responses saying the pool and restaurant would be working by the end of June... I booked to stay here in August! I was disappointed to find that the pool was not working and the restaurant not open (despite their website having loads of pictures of beautiful Thai food)! The hotel was clean and rooms good value, hotel staff were good . If you want to strike the correct balance between your money well spent and value returned for the same, then Radisson SAS Dubai Marina will beat most other hotels in and around Dubai Marina Area hands down..... No Restaurant at the Hotel from CaptSJolly
I had a pretty alright check, in room was clean, I was upgraded due to too much on the street whizzing of cars noise, the people were real helpful & courteous, but the hotel till date does not have a single restaurant which was very surprising and painful cause the food was ordered through other hotels and took too much time to be serviced ( avg time for dinner to be served 1/2 hour after you have ordered) the other was swimming pool was closed due to leakages although they wanted us to go & swim elsewhere, now that was really awful. I've just returned from a business trip, stayed 5 nights in a lovely 1 bed apartment on the 5th floor, with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge / TV, bedroom / TV, balcony, nice bathroom with separate shower, complimentary fruit and water . Having arrived at the hotel late and up early in the morning I felt very hungry and was very dissapointed to find 'breakfast in the lobby' was literally this - 1 choice of juice, dried croissants and coffee from a machine, right by the reception desk - as you can imagine this was not exactly relaxing. I moved to this "hotel" after staying in the nearby sheraton beach resort. Since I was in dubai for 10 days I wanted somewhere that felt like home and the sheraton had a nice view of the beach but the rooms were really noisy from the corridor and rooms above. The radisson is (as the name says) a residential block, so all the "rooms" are more like apartments - studios, one bed and two bed. Very nice large apartment which was really well kitted out . Luxury bathrooms, well-fitted ultra-modern kitchen, large bedrooms . Whole apartment very clean. This aparthotel has no restaurant, therefore no breakfast was available (except coffe/tea & croissants in the lobby). Downside was the location! Most areas in Dubai are building sites at the moment (& for the next few years I would say) and this was no exception. There were high rise (& I mean high rise!) blocks getting built all around us. The hotel opened in June 2008 so everything was new. The service was very good, the hotel provided free shuttle (Lexus) to the beach and two shopping malls. The room was big. ( Standard Studio) All studios are equipped with a kitchen complete with dishwasher, washer/dryer and kitchen supplies. One of the better Radissons I have stayed in. Dubai Marina is going to be a very interesting place.
