a perfect oasis
love this hotel. the setting is divine. book a room on the first floor with an interior terrace all to yourself. the look is clean modern and calm. staff is excellent, especially at the front desk and Antonio in the restaurant. we extended our stay and will return. this is a great value hotel. it is not the 4 seasons. it is more low key then overly fussy places.
Palazzo Caracciolo is beautiful
My husband and I spent 2 nights at Palazzo Caracciola (6 and 7 June 2010). The hotel’s neighborhood is scary at first sight and as we arrived late in a Sunday afternoon, the streets were very dirty as the trash spots were all over its limits. My first thought was perhaps we should cancel this stay and drive directly to the Amalfi Coast. Than, when we crossed the front door, it was like getting in to an Oasis in a middle of a desert The hotel is an ancient building that was recently restored: elegant and modern decoration, spotless and... more
Fabulous hotel
Great place to stay, can't praise it highly enough - comfortable, light rooms, peaceful location, excellent breakfast, and can also recommend the dinner. The hotel staff are exceptionally kind and helpful - one of our group had a medical emergency and the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. The location is not the best, not somewhere to wander alone at night, but within walking distance of plenty for daytime sightseeting, and it's easy to get cabs to go further field. The amenity and comfort of the hotel far outweigh... more
Fabulous hotel - modern comfortable rooms in a stylish hotel.
We had a great stay in this hotel en-route to the amalfi coast. The hotel was a little hard to find (by car) and parking is a few minutes drive away but one inside its an absolute oasis of serenity and comfort in contrast to the hustle and bustle of Naples. The staff were very friendly and helpful and attentive. The location is very good - between the main piazza and roads and adjacent to the old narrow streets and walkways. Lots of restaurants nearby. The rooms are ultra modern, very well equipped yet simple and elegant. Perfect hotel for... more
ABSOLUTE ELEGANCE
We were referred to this hotel by another local hotel agent in naples for the last night of our 2 wk vacation in Italy.. It was beautiful. The staff was helpful and friendly, also spoke English. They arranged our cab in the morning, and gave us a 430am wakeup call. There are porters outside the hotel at all hours, carrying luggage to the room. It was about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, not in the best area, HOWEVER, once you go inside the regal entrance, it's first class all the way! The beds are lush, and the bathrooms are... more
Fabulous
This hotel is one of the best that I have ever stayed in, and I've been to a few. Can't fault the service. The breakfast was good, though somewhat limited in the hot food department, only bacon and scrambled eggs, but plenty of choice otherwise. Cereals, fruit, cold meats and cheese, along with a selection of bread and rolls. Dinner in the restaurant is pretentious and overpriced. Naples, on the other hand, is a tip. There are beautiful buildings surrounded by slums and dereliction. The litter is worse than I have... more
Location, Location, Location !
This hotel is situated between the train station and National museum area of Naples. A 12 minute walk one direction puts you at the National Musem or Botanical Museum, while an 8 minute walk the other direction takes you the train station. A 20 minute train (Circumvenusia) ride takes you to Pompeii. The hotel has been opened since November '09, so the restraunt is still working out some menu kinks, etc. But the food is quite good. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Security is outstanding with gurads in business suits standing on... more
Great Hotel - Lousy Location
Great hotel - comfortable rooms, service generally OK, although some lapses in standards at breakfast and in room service. But oh dear! The location is terrible. The busy Via Carbonara that leads down to the main railway station is lined with low grade shops, ankle deep in rubbish and inhabited by down and outs - probably the reason for the three security guards on constant duty outside the hotel. The refuse bins in the street outside the hotel were always overflowing and were regularly trawled by people looking for saleable items. There... more
a wonderful place in a city of legend
This palace of the Napoleon's time is amazing. The decoration is modern and gives to the old stones a very special effect. The hotel is very confortable and the service is perfect. The neighborhood is the very old city, with the famous small street , which are the heart of the city. The carbonara street is a broad street and taxi are cheap to go to other places of the city, especially at night. We were ther in february, but in spring and summer the hotel should be very nice. Italian food is one of the best in the world, you can easily... more
Nicest place in Naples !
Opened recently (Sept 09) this outstanding 15th century palace is by far the best experience today in Naples. A warm italian modern decoration throughout the hotel gives you a nice feeling and let you to get the soul of this building. A majestic main yard and a private smaller one lemon fenced are terrific. The bedding is made of high end fluffy components. You'll feel like on a cloud. The Duplex Junior suites are elegantly decorated and furnished with a very nice lighting. A premium comfort with no doubt and reasonably... more
By far one of the best places in Naples
I stayed at the new Palazzo Carrciolo in Naples. This hotel opened Nov. 1st. We were the 1st guests to stay in our room. The rooms are very nice with tiles floors, large bathroom with shower & tub, a small balcony with a side view of Vesuvius, leather headboard, & good sized closet. Included breakfast is ample with lots of pastries, cheese, meats, juice, eggs & sausage. The hotel have a really nice, hip bar as well. The hotel is decorated with a combination of modern Italian & sea themes but a loca designer. I have to say the service at... more
