Carlton Tel Aviv

Stayes there in September, We were on a trip to Israel, celebrating my 45th birthday. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the hotel is spotlessly clean, and the rooms and the beds are luxurious and spacious. (I need one of those scrummy duvets) The staff were very accommodating. We have just came back from a tour in Israel. Before we went back we have stayed at the Carlton Tel Aviv in the last 3 days of our tour. The Carlton made a very good impression on us that got us to want to go back there next time we visit Israel. All of our expectations were fullfilled more than what we expected. At the last 5 years I've been more than 10 times in Tel-Aviv for my business, I've stayed in almost all of the 5-star hotels in the area and the Carlton is without a doubt the best one. Though this hotel is not very sparkling from the outside it's definitely a 5-star quality inside. I've stayed in an Executive room that was newly renovated and very comfortable and had the best view ever, this probably the only hotel in Israel where you can have an actual P.C. in your room. Very nice, and very comfortable but for travelers coming from the US, this is more of a 4 star property, not 5 star as some of the marketing may suggest. The location is very good in that it is close enough to the airport, and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants anyone needs. It is on the beach however the best bet would be to use one of the beaches at a neighboring hotel since the section of the beach the Carlton has isnt especially big or buzzing. How many ways can you nickel and dime a customer? This hotel sets a new record. They offer to send continental breakfast to the room if you pay for B&B. However, should you call a second later than 10:30, you find yourself in the midst of a screaming match with the incompetant room service staff. This is not the only insignificant charge that the hotel finds neccessary to charge its customers. The hotel room rates change by the milisecond, and wireless internet costs $15 per day. The Hotel is a 5 stars delux hotel, I dont know why it is writen as 3 stars in the site... That was the 2nd time we stayed in the Carlton and now my wife's parents joined us, we all agree that the Carlton is one of the best hotels we ever visited and surely one of the best in Tel Aviv. We thought the Carlton was a very pleasant hotel. We stayed in a Deluxe room and the view from our balcony was simply priceless. The breakfast buffet was uncomperable to any other Tel Aviv hotel we visited in the past. Our room was spaciouse and clean. The staff was helpful and seemed very willing to help with all out inquireis. Will stay there again for sure!

After reading the TripAdvisor reviews on this property, I decided to change from my usual Tel Aviv hotel for my most recent trip. How do I regret it? Let me count the ways... I booked a nonsmoking room and they put me in smoking and "could not" change it when I checked in at 1 am. I awoke to construction noise on the floor above at 8 am. The "guest care" manager informed me that the noise would continue until "at least 2 pm". I requested (nicely) a room change (again) so that I could work. Stayed at Carlton several times.The hotel was majorly renovated recently,and,in my opinion,is in top 5 of places to stay in Tel Aviv.The food was excellent,location is prime,staff was friendly to us always.Will go back.
