So its not a luxury hotel, but then you wouldnt need anything as such when staying in Swindon. Nicely located away from M4, walking distance from the main railway station (5mins walk), and very modern building that can be seen as you exit the station. As a PriorityClub member - the InterContinental Hotels Group loyality scheme - i was able to check in quickly and straight to my room within few minutes. I stayed here on business. If you're staying for more than one night then stay somewhere else. It's clean, good value for money etc etc but it has no soul. Location Right in the centre of new town, near train station. Also next to the 'nightlife' of new town. Great if you're going out, not so good if you're a female solo business traveller as it is quit initimidating to walk through the gangs of people hanging around with your laptop and papers. Swindon. It's not quite the place you would choose to stop without good reason. But if you do find yourself looking for an overnight halt, then the City Centre Holiday Inn Express might seem a sensible choice, particularly if you want to get away from the M4. As others have already said, this is quite a modern high-rise hotel situated about 10 minutes walk from Swindon railway station. The rooms are of the usual HI Express modern standard. What is now a major plus for this hotel is they have slashed the price of in-room broadband internet access from £3.95 for 3 hours to a mere 5 pence for 24 hours! Very nice Express hotel, new, clean and modern. Feels a bit understaffed at times - seems to be one person dispensing drinks and manning reception - but were very courteous with me. Good room size and standard, although the corridors could get a bit noisy as can outside.

I stayed at this hotel during a driving business trip in the UK. While going from East to West (and I went to Swindon for the night because I have friends there), it was a fine place to stay. The building is rather new, the newest Holiday Inn I have stayed at I suppose. Modern, the rooms are fine in size. This hotel is in an ideal location for the train station, shopping and nightlife. The hotel has excellent rooms and great helpful staff. The breakfast in the morning was also very good with a wide choice. I would stop here again when in the Swindon area without a doubt.

This was an excellent hotel in most ways - lovely clean rooms, very modern and well equipped. Breakfasts were good. All in all, excellent value for money. The only niggle was that one or two of the reception staff's attitude left a lot to be desired. Obviously a couple of these young 'ladies' had received inadequate training / or had no manners..

I stayed here for one night on the 20th Dec, for the price the hotel is fine, it's quite new so all the rooms and external areas haven't had the chance to get worn by use yet! The rooms are very modern, i loved the plasma TV. The bed, however, was rock hard, and my friend who slept on the sofabed said that she could feel the springs digging into her all night. This hotel was about a year old when I visited for 5 nights in Jan 2005. The single rooms are small by American standards but quite stylish. This hotel is walking distance to the Swindon train station, several restaurants, and at the start of the main pedestrian shopping district.
