Park Hotel

The staff at the hotel were rude, incompetent and beligerent. No manager working the hotel at the weekend?? They lied, were discourteous and deceitful. Not much else to say about this hotel but i wouldnt risk booking this place if i was you. They cancelled our bookings. Their mistake. Had to go to other hotel. Other hotel said they have people coming to them everyweek from that hotel because they double book.

Overall, a fairly standard hotel. This was a last resort booking as Liverpool FC was playing during the weekend and Liverpool has been named this years' Capital of Culture. Room was decent, though bed felt a little worn making for some uncomfortable sleep. Internet was 5 pounds per 24 hours, which was cheaper than most places I found charging up to 10 pounds in the area. Restuarant downstairs with average meals and a sutiable drink selection. This hotel is a complete dump. From the moment you sttep in, it hits you. It's old and dark. The staff are that pleasant at all. The lift is falling apart. Patched up walls. The bar area is that of a working mens club. All it needed was a dart board. The room was ok space wise but thay could not of got a smaller tv. Nothing on there for kids. I was pleasantly surprised when we stayed at this hotel. Our room was very spacious, it even had a settee. the bathroom was modern and very clean. A private dining room was provided for our party of 14 as the main room was being used for a wedding reception. The menu was varied , the food was well presented and well cooked. Even the bill was a pleasant surprise! But best of all were the staff who looked after us. They couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Even when they were on duty the following morning. Awful room, dark dingy and cramped. No telephone, We booked a double room and ended up with the smallest twin I have ever seen. Bathroom was bigger, cleaner and brigher, we were tempted to sleep in there!! Stay somewhere else.

Great to see the Park Hotel is now going in the right direction after full renovation. My room was clean, spacious and tastefully decorated, the food was great also. I would definitely return to this hotel and advise others to give it a try!!!!!!

we had just returned from a lovely relaxing week in Menorca,we needed to stay in Liverpool overnight as we arrived backto late for a flight home to the isle of man.We checked into the hotel about 8.30pm.After putting luggage in room we went down to the bar to get something to eat but were told the kitchen was shut.The bar didnt even have any crisps.Anyway we enjoyed the free bottle of wine and went to bed about 11.30.The bedroom was clean and comfortable,unfortunately at3.30am we were woken by a large group of lads returning to our... more

Hotel has a veneer of quality with recently refurbished rooms and a welcome board but it is just a veneer. We stayed for 3 nights over the Whitsun bank holiday. The thermostat on the shower was broken meaning that the water was scalding hot. Reported this to reception but the problem was not fixed nor were we notified until we found out for ourselves the following morning.
