Bauer Il Palazzo

My wife and I stayed at the Bauer last month for a week. I can honestly say that it was the best holiday of my life! The Bauer Il Palazzo is a superb, 5 star deluxe establishment situated minutes away from St Marks square. All the best Venice attractions are close by but due to the hotels location just up a narrow calle, the hotel is quiet, peaceful and secluded. Everything about this hotel/palace is remarkable. From the wonderful staff to the beautiful rooms and views to the fabulous restaurant and breakfast - this hotel is a must! And nothing beats the perfect location. All I can say is budget, save, save, save and GO!

We have just returned from our stay at Il Palazzo at the Bauer.This hotel is outstanding. The views from our bedroom over the Grand canal were amazing the staff were all so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. they took a personal interest in us and always addressed us by name when we appeared in the reception area.The service is discreet and tailored to the individual guest. Every once in a while if you are lucky, you get to stay at an wonderful world class hotel. The Bauer Il Palazzo is one of those cases. We stayed here for 2 days during carnivale this past February and had a gorgeous room overlooking the side canal with a great view of the grand canal from our terrace. This was my fourth stay at Il Palazzo and a first for my husband. He is ready to move in! The room is elegant and beautifully appointed -- Venetian but not too over the top. The small suite was quiet with minimal canal or hotel noise. The staff was observant but not obtrusive. Breakfast is currently being served in the downstairs dining room and is OK. We spent a fantastic week-end in Venice, with cold but sunny weather. We had chosen the Bauer Il Palazzo afer reading some reviews here, but I lacked some pictures. I try to post a few ones to give you a better idea of this property. The week prior to our trip I requested the concierge to arrange transfer from Marco Polo airport to the hotel. Just returned from a long weekend at Il Palazzo - which was absolutely fabulous. Our room was gorgeous, Roberto the concierge was very helpful without being overwelming. Breakfast on the roof was everything it should be for the the price to stay at Il P. and reserving the jacuzzi with a bottle of Pro Secco and a dish of strawberries was simply one of the most romantic experiences in the world. Its not cheap but its worth every euro!

We stayed in a huge room overlooking the Grand Canal in the Il Palazzo part of the hotel for 3 nights in early September as part of an anniversary celebration. WOW. I don't think we've ever spent so much money on a hotel, but this place was just amazing and was worth every penny. august 2005,stayed at the il palazzo for a long weekend for our wedding anniversary, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we could not fault our treatment. We have just spent three wonderful nights at the Palazzo and would happly go again, it is just off the tourist track and is 3 min walk in to St Marks square. The staff fall over themselves to help with reservations and also mapping out the tourist trails for you. Its Grand canal rooms are great, but we will go for the same suite each time for the location and space involved.
