Myself and a friend stayed in this hotel towards the end of our trip to the Thai islands and loved our stay. We had stayed in various resorts prior to this and nothing compared to this hotel. The overwhelming memory I have of the place is the friendliness of all the staff and service that was second to none. When we arrived we were greeted with a little bus that runs you from the main street to the hotel door (which was actually a short distance), this was only the start of the excellent treatment we were given. Me and my friend had a great time at the Buddy Samui hotel. The staff were lovely and the place was nice and clean. The rooms were great... even better than the pictures on the website. Staff were exceptionally friendly and willing to help out... It is a bit out from the main town area, but this was great for us because that meant it was quite and peaceful and only a short inexpensive cab ride or walk to get into town. The pool was great, didn't eat at the restaurants there cos they seemed a bit expensive, but quite a few really nice... more

I am moved to add a review because of the fantastic time we had staying at the Buddy Samui. Having paid less per night than a Travelodge (UK Budget Hotel a-la Formula1) the service experienced was definately four star. The hotel is located between Chaweng and Lamai, this immediately gives you two options. A five minute walk to Lamai town or a ten minute taxi ride to the bigger Chaweng (appx 400 Baht). If you are just relaxing the hotel has every facility you need. 2 pools, 2 bars and a nightclub along with a beach bar. You don't really... more

When I arrived at the Buddy Boutique Hotel it was a breath of fresh air. (and it was pouring rain) We were welcomed with a cold towel and tropical drink. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated...like stepping into Colonial Carribean a la Tommy Bahama Style. Immaculately clean and high end Western Bathrooms complete with amenities. The hotel has 2 restaurants, 2 pools, free internet, a fitness center...the works! Breakfast is included and even has an omelette station. Good, but expensive and noisy from JohnnyChalon
I stayed 3 days in the hotel. Very comfortable and relaxing during the day. A beautiful hotel, but near the road and therefore very noisy. Also in the night loud music and some times firework. It es nearly morning when you start sleeping. The stuff is friendly and the people are helpful.

I would like to thank Buddy Samui for a great stay. In light of the previous reviews I would say that things have vastly improved and my family had a very enjoyable and peaceful time at this hotel. The location is absolutley fantastic and so close to the beach just a short walk from the better beach in Samui of Lai Mai. the service was fantastic but I found the food a bit down on quality, but regardless the have a very handy supermarket on site. Overall, a great and relaxing stay at Buddy. I’m quite surprised to read some bad reviews below. Buddy Samui is a new hotel in a quiet northern part of Lamai beach, close to both Changweng and Lamai. Our room was very bright, clean and quiet, the balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The decor of the hotel is reminiscent of the Caribbean colonial style. Bad location,booked a seaview large room,they do not have any seaview rooms,you have to cross the busy road to the beach.Very small room.Staff unhelpful thought we were funny.Manager off duty no one able to help.Booked straight out.Don't pick this hotel for a relaxing holiday,more a business hotel.

I couldn't agree less with the negative review below. Perhaps they had just opened and were still fine tuning. The room was beautiful. Bed came with a mossie net, the place has 2 pools, an OK secluded beach, free internet, located between 2 great beaches (Lamai and Chewang). The breakfast was kind of crappy (included) but you get yummy noodle soup right next door for $0.50 so who cares? Staff was freidnly and the hotel looks like it was just built.

Hello, I am a travel agent and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! Reasons: * When we arrived we had to wait to get our rooms as they were not ready. * when we eventually got the rooms, two guys jumped the fence of the balcony and started drilling the walls.. eventhough I told them to stop as my brother was sleeping .. they continued. * we went to have something to eat, there were 4 of us and it took them 45 min to serve us all.. 1st my mother 10 min later my father and so on.. so by the time I got my meal... more

Dear Mme Georgina, I am new General Manager of Buddy Samui Boutique Hotel and I have just noticed your unfortunately very negative comment of our property. I do not want to explain what has gone wrong when you stayed in our hotel, but it looks like we have failed roughly when serving you while your stay in December 2008. It was surely our mistake, that the hotel was opened when it was not ready yet. On December a lot of construction was still going on, but now I am happy to say, that all construction is completed since February 2009. Also our restaurants were not ready to serve the clients and our training for personnel was not even started on December 2008. Now we have changed the conception of restaurants and training of the personnel is continuous, even english lessons are going on. Dear Mme Giorgina. If You come still sometime in the future to Buddy Samui Hotel I would be very happy if we could host you during your stay. I am sure that you will notice the difference comparing to the past.
