Hello; we are from Belgium; after reading all comments we were afraid to go!
BUT; forget all negative!!
Its a good place to relax (Plenty of towels!), good for children, also near airport (5 min.)
The food is good but maybe we accept a little more variation!
The whole resort is perfect clean; and also rooms are big, and everyday cleaning.
Don’t forget your diving material!! It’s wonderful there.
SO in our opinion it’s a good 4 stars!! NO 5!! If you want 5 stars pay more and go somewhere else!!!
We were glad and sure we go back there!!!!!

After reading the reviews we were not sure what to expect, when we arrived we found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful, the rooms very clean and comfortable. The food was good with an excellent choice, each night a different variety of food; if anyone went hungry they had only themselves to blame.
The resort itself was wonderful, the sea was amazing and the beach clean. The room was cleaned everyday and bottles of water left for our convenience. The staff around the resort were extremely helpful and very pleasant.
We had a wonderful time and have already booked again for next year. The only thing I can say for anyone unsure about visiting Sharm is please remember that it is Egypt and NOT Blackpool with sun, enjoy the culture and relax, we would recommend Sharm to anyone.

All I can say is go see for yourself....

May 2004, Mr J Evans

All I can say is go see for yourself. I was a little apprehensive seeing some of the negative reviews but they were completely unfounded in my experience. Being only a short distance away there was a little bit of air traffic but this is not Heathrow or Gatwick and the 2 - 3 times a day disturbance from planes was a welcome distraction. The greater benefit is that the transfer time from the airport is very short.
While the meals were not Egon Ronay standard they were pleasant. Typical criticism was from Brits who missed their fry up breakfasts, steak and kidney pies with onion gravy for lunch and steak & chips for evening meal - my word of advice to those is book Butlins in future - this is Egypt and so you should expect a different menu.
The site layout has everything but if you are near the lower pool closer to the beach you will need to expect to walk up a number of steps to get to the pool bar (which serves a lunch snack) and a bit further to the main restaurant. if this is Ok you will be rewarded with a pool that boasts several different levels, a jacuzzi, climbing wall when you fall off drops into 6 foot of water, fun slides (for all ages) and take a look at the mini zoo at the top!
The sea inside the reef is family friendly, where the fish are as interested in you as much as you are in them. Competent swimmers can dive off the mini pier into 100 foot of water and be rewarded with sea life better than any aquarium I have visited. On a good day you will also get to see the 40 or so wild dolphins that inhabit the coast.
The staff are the friendliest and most helpful it has been my pleasure to meet. The holiday was half the price and twice the value of the one I had in the Caribbean I had last year. The day trip to Ras Mohammed National Park was well worth the cost. The crime rate is almost zero; only expect to be robbed face to face if you don’t barter, especially in the town where you will meet the trader’s entire family. But as for break-ins or pick pocketing or even worse - you’ll have to go to another destination if you want to make an insurance claim. I’m already making plans to go back there.

On the face of it the Hauza resort...
5 / 10
May 2004, Mr J.N. Ray

On the face of it the Hauza resort was a well laid out nicely presented hotel. The rooms were functional and clean and the staff although pleasant and helpful (especially the reception staff), in general, needed better training in meeting and greeting the guests (excluding the reception staff).
My only real criticism was that the quality of the food wasn’t quite what I expected having been on all inclusive holidays before and the local drinks were pretty poor to say the least, except for the beer, which was not served cold but luke cool if there is such an expression. If one wanted ice, one had to ask, and even then the staff were loathe to give more that a couple of cubes.
The beach area is nice but a little rocky at the waters edge and the snorkelling superb and safe, however keep an eye on small children as there are a few deep bits between the rocks.
The hotel is very popular with Russians and Germans (I leave you to form your own opinions on that one) as is Sharm el Sheik in general.
The main area is Naama Bay. This is about 15mins away by hotel minibus and cost £15(Egyptian) return about £1.20 sterling. This is where the nightlife is. It has many shops and restaurants and worth a visit. Be prepared for the street touts trying to entice you in, these can be a little tiresome when all you want is a pleasant stroll. If you are offered a city tour by your rep. decline. It would be cheaper to take a taxi into old sharm and explore yourself. Our tour consisted of a visit to a mosque and a church, both of which had no historical or cultural history. In fact, the area of Sharm El Sheik is truly devoid of Culture and history, as it is very new (less than 40 years old)
If all you want is a chill out holiday with pleasant nightlife, this place is good. If you want Pyramids, you will be disappointed. They are 500 miles away.
I would go again but not all inclusive.

I have also just returned from a 10-day vacation at Hauza and really enjoyed it. Sure, there were a couple of hiccups, but overall the staff were pleasant, the facility itself is quite interesting and well maintained and it is especially "kid friendly" I visited friends at the Iberotel Palace in Old Sharm and the hotel was newer, the food was better and.it was more expensive. Hauza is 4 star and probably barely passes the grade, but for the money I felt that I got decent value...The only comment I have is that if you are a drinker you’ll be disappointed with the "local" all inclusive beverages...but I’m not so I didn’t care...

I have just returned from a week at the Hauza Beach Resort and can only say that I think the negative reviews of this hotel are completely unfounded. Please don’t let them put you off - go and see for yourself.
The Hotel is well laid out and well looked after. It is provides the basis for a peaceful and very relaxing holiday. The private beach is easily accessible and well stocked with parasols and sun-beds. The Jetty gives easy access for snorkelling on an extensive coral reef with the most amazing tropical fish you are ever likely to see. The complex has two swimming pools - one of which has 3 water slides, a series of very picturesque waterfalls and 2 outdoor spas pools. There are also several table-tennis tables, volley ball courts, tennis courts etc.
The staff at the Hotel are large in number, very accommodating and very eager to please. Rooms are modern, spacious, soundproof and spotlessly clean.
The clientele is a healthy mix of Europeans and it is nice to be in a foreign country and actually feel as though it is a foreign country and not just a hot version of Blackpool!
Granted I have eaten better food but it is all part of the experience and there is plenty of choice. If you really can’t cope with what’s on offer - both the pool and beach bars served pizza and chips!
If you are looking for a “non- stop fun-filled family holiday, surrounded by other English holiday makers, with red-coat style entertainment day and night and full English Breakfasts for 1 euro on every corner” then this is not the place for you. However if you are able to chill-out and appreciate what is on offer - climate, culture, history, then I am sure that you will have an enjoyable holiday.

My first recommendations to anyone...
2 / 10
Apr 2004, Miss P Gomes

My first recommendations to anyone reading this is don’t go there! (The resort I mean not the country) I am disappointed and annoyed at being sold a holiday that I couldn’t wait to get home from.
The hotel looks impressive from the outside, and has some nice surroundings. I went all inclusive, hoping to enjoy the luxury of not paying for food, the food was awful, my schools dinners were better, I also become ill whilst in the hotel due to the poor standard of food quality and hygiene.
There is no entertainment also forget a sleep in the morning it’s up at the crack of dawn for a sun bed if you’re lucky, even then you may not get a towel for it. If you don’t get one then there is nothing to do all day.
The activities are for Germans and Italians nothing for the English.
Nama Bay is brilliant if you plan to go to Sharm El Sheikh stay in one the lovely hotels I wish I had stayed in that I saw.
Or just go elsewhere and soak up Egypt’s amazing history and culture.
The only plus is if you have children as a reef, which provides pools for the kids to play in and watch the colourful fish, surrounds the resort. Snorkelling is also very good and can be done all day except near mid tide.

The complex is situated right under...

Mar 2004, Mrs A Stockley

The complex is situated right under the flight path and is extremley noisy. The general standard of the accomodation is fair to good and the rooms are adequate. The food and drink is appauling with most of the menu catering for the camels? What food we could have eaten which was rice and pasta was cold and smothered in oil, however they did provide a microwave to reheat your food! The plates were often soiled and the glass wear was chipped or in many cases cracked. The resort boasts to provide beach towels however these were more often than not dirty. The staff on the resort were pleasent and helpful and would attempt to correct any problems you encountered. The resort is a 15 min drive from anywhere but its worth the travel into Naama Bay for a decent meal and some entertainment as all of the activities on site cater mainly for the Russians and the Italians. Avoid this resort at all costs my advice to you would be to obtain accomodation in Naama Bay the standard is much better.

After reading T Williams' review (see...
9 / 10
Mar 2004, Ms M Bibby

1 reader found this review helpful

After reading T Williams' review (see below) three days before scheduled to arrive at the Hauza Beach Resort, I was not looking forward to it.
However, I was very pleasantly surprised. I would describe the hotel as 4 star.
On arrival at reception, our luggage was immediately taken off our hands and registration was dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner.
We were transported with our luggage to the apartment which gave us a chance to preview the complex which is very clean and well laid out with thought. The plants and flowers are tended and watered every day by the grounds staff. And the flamingos add a nice touch.
The apartments are spacious and clean with good bathroom facilities; (hairdryer, shaving point, shower and bath, clothes drying line); clean towels and room cleaning, are provided as and when requested. We opted for a sea view terrace for an extra £20 per person per week, which was well worth it.
Although T Williams says the hotel caters mainly for Germans and Russians, I would say that Germans, Russians and Italians, and that mainly OCCUPY it; there are no shortcomings at all for English spoken residents. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating and every day they go out of their way to ask you if everything is ok, if you are having a nice time, and to wish you a pleasant stay.
The three bars, at the pool, the beach and the main hotel bar, provide pleasant areas to relax and all the staff are welcoming and chatty. In the hotel bar, in addition to tables and chairs, there are four large sofas which are very comfortable.
The main restaurant, the Nubian restaurant, is a buffet style restaurant with ample choices of salads, breads, cheeses, hot meals, puddings, etc. Breakfast, lunch and dinners all have wide choices. It is not a canteen as T Williams said in his comments.
I also spent a few days looking for the “good view of the building works taking place just outside the dining area”. Apparently, the curtain blind placed horizontally across the windows of the restaurant, now cleverly obscures that. The Tirana restaurant, between the hotel and the beach, provides mainly Thai and sea food/fish dishes. The late breakfast at the pool bar was a bit of a disappointment, with a choice of three types of bread/pastry.
Entertainment for children is mainly at the pool bar. Other facilities available include table tennis, crazy golf and there’s always the zoo, which is very small. Diving, snorkelling, and volleyball are some of the other options. Very good value for money was a camel or horse ride across the desert to watch the sun set at the foot of the mountains, drinks included in the price. (Alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
The beach is very well looked after, but watch out for any low parasols. The fish are amazing. I could go on about it but urge you to find out for yourself.
Just one thing, although the sun is very hot, the wind can be strong and breezy at this time of the year (March) and because of the wind, the nights can get chilly outdoors.

The Hauza Beach Resort is a...
4 / 10
Feb 2004, T Wiliams

The Hauza Beach Resort is a collection of appartments and facilities located between the main building and the beach.
As the name suggests the hotel caters mainly for Germans and Russians.
No reasonable person could describe the hotel as 5 star. It definitely is not. In fact the management at the hotel dont dispute this, they will show you the official rating, it isnt 5 star. The hotel arrangements for eating and entertainment are closer to a british 1950s holiday camp than the standards of a good hotel. While the staff are all frindly the facilities are poor. The "fitness centre" was a joke, a bike that is too small for a man and the other three items for home use and in my view dangerous because they are for home use only.
There are no comfortable seating areas in the hotel. The canteen, yes canteen, is large and noisy but does give a good view of the nearby building works taking place just outside the dining area.
If you have booked - you may want to change hotels if you can. If you cant cancel and you do go then walk down the beach or take a £2.00 taxi ride to the Radison SAS hotel. The gym, pool etc etc can all be used for $5.00 a day. This is luxury.
The upside is that the coral and the fish in this area are amazing and the hotel beach is rather nice.
As a final tip. Take US$ to Egypt in small notes. Dont change them into the Egyptian currancy. The dollar may be weak on the world currency markets but in Egypt it is king and will give you better value for money.

About 5/10 drive from Sharm so great...

Jun 2003, Mr J Taylor

About 5/10 drive from Sharm so great for a family. Two pools and plenty to do for the family but not great if you are in to nightlife. Staff are very friendly and food is surprisingly good. Many took all inclusive but we had B&B only so we could travel around and eat at other places. A real mix of nationalities.
We have been there twice and I world happily go again!
