Holiday Inn Express Leeds City Centre-Armouries

We stayed at this hotel last Friday after attending our daughter's graduation. The whole experience was impressive. The staff were unfailingly pleasent and were always working hard to keep the hotel functioning. This is a new hotel. A lot of thought has gone into the design and it sits well beside the Armouries. I was surprised to see two jousting horses in a paddock by my window. Breakfast was well organised and more than adequate. I booked in advance and am in Priority Club. The cost per room was very reasonable.

Stayed here for a conference for one night in June 2007. Booked a family room for myself so it was a good size. All rooms are the same price and breakfast is included. I loved the layout and lighting of the rooms. TV tells you can order porno films as soon as you try and find the channels which I found a bit naff. Had an evening meal of vegetable curry, rice and naan bread which was nice. Heard others around me complaining about the price of the food, but I was really hungry, so it seemed ok to me! Stayed here with a friend for a week at Christmas and again for 3 days before Easter. Great experience both times. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. Quite simple but good breakfast included in the price. Room rates cheap for this quality especially at weekends. Hotel has only been open a few months so everything is still pristine and new. This is a brand-new hotel. Everything is new and works well. It is next door to the Armoury museum, which still has construction going on. The canal path is just a few hundred yards away.

Nice new HI Express. Clean with good service and a reasonable breakfast. Location is very convenient for the Armouries and about 10 minutes walk from the centre. The only snag is the need to park in the adjacent multi storey and pay £5.

Stayed at this hotel last week. Pros: The room was very clean and modern. The hotel staffs were very courteous and helpful especially the young Chinese lady in reception. We were looking for a hotel in Liverpool after our stay in this hotel. She was very helpful. She called to the hotels and booked us a room and printed us a driving direction to Liverpool. The hotel is built next to the development of Clarence Dock, Leeds. The development is still in progress and therefore there is alot of building work occuring right next to the hotel. The builders start work at 7 and can continue until 9 at night and this is Monday to Saturday - no building work on Sundays ONLY!!!! There is alot of noise and dirt around the hotel.
