6 week stay!
I stayed here 6 weeks on business and it is one of the better hotels in Tel Aviv, which is what I heard from all the locals, but it only rates OK on my scale. It was safe, clean, but mostly aged in need of a serious remodel. The rooms had comfortable beds but I have stayed at much better Marriott hotels in the past. The rooms are average size and the location is unbeatable with many restaurants on the beach to choose from. There is limited food to choose from in the lobby and the breakfast is Ok, but not great and you will get tired of... more
Super Renaissance
We have just returned from 8 nights b & b at Renaissance Tel Aviv on executive floor with use of club lounge. Very pleasant stay, room excellent - recommend Jaffa side - better view and more sunshine. Great beakfast and we had one dinner . We had the buffet which was good quality and reasonable value.Staff helpful and polite Hotel is well situated on beach front, close to all that Tel Aviv has to offer. Will stay there again on next trip - hopefully early next year.
Great Location, OK Hotel
The hotel is pretty average for that price range. The rooms are ok, the spa area is really dirty. The location, however, is the best in the city. Great view from the rooms. We wanted to change the hotel midway through the trip. But in its price range ($200 anight), it is the best hotel. We checked out Sheraton Moriha, which is next door, but Renaissance is better. If you want a better hotel in Tel Aviv, try Sheraton Tower Tel Aviv. Much more expensive, but pretty good.
Great location, average hotel
The hotel is not in great shape but the location more than makes up for it. The food is actually pretty good there. Access to the beach is a key feature of the hotel and the beach is just wonderful this time of year. Overall, I think that if the beach is important to you, stay here, otherwise there may be better values in TLV. BTW, service is actually pretty good here.
liked, not loved
We were here six nights. The room was fairly standard Marriott fare. Bed was comfortable. TV channel selection was horrible. Wireless internet was weak and about $20 per day. Beach was outstanding. Spent many hours there. The Beach concession is not Hotel owned , so a lounge chair and umbrella will cost you about 18 Sheqs. The food from the beach Concession LaLa Land was very good. The hotel gym is horrible. The idoor pool is not great. The hotel breakfast was weak IMO. I could see how some people might like it (lots of pastries, canned... more
nothing special
industrial, nothing personal; but on the beach. rooms are ok but a little aged
nice hotel - food service/awful
Stayed there with family for a week over the Passover holiday period. Paid extra for executive floor room which was no different than regular room/ entrance to the The Executive lounge was limited to only three days out the seven and lounge had very little to offer in the way of snacks or food.. the staff all seemed to be part timers or new on the job and didn’t seem to know what was going on and had to check with their managers on every guest query. The food was probably the worst I have experienced at any hotel in Israel.<br... more
OK, but not so good as supposed
The rooms are generally OK, clean and maintained fine. The breakfast is awful and poor. No booklet for hotel services in the room. The parking lot is disaster, congested and overpopulated. Your car might be scratched and crushed and no one will take a responsibility for that. The pool is small, mouldy and needs urgent restoration. Massage team looks like "don't get close to me". Disappointed, although the location is great.
A decent option in Tel Aviv at the beach
Let's face it- Tel Aviv is short on decent hotels. I have a colleague who stayed at the Sheraton, and the sink in his bathroom literally fell off the wall- at least he missed the balcony that collapsed the folowing week. Given these options, the Renaissance is perfectly fine. The lobby and overall decor are a bit dated, but not bad. Front desk is very friendly. Most of the rooms are quite small but have views of the bay, and of course like all Hayarkon hotels the Renaissance is right on the beach- fantastic for a morning run.<br... more
Absolutely fine
We very delighted with this hotel. Its clean, modern enough and was not tired. Breakfasts just great, service and staff perfectly OK. Good location. Kept looking for the faults that the other dissenters complained about. They didn't exist! To those who want better - pay more and hope that its worth it. We went off season and had great weather - that was our luck. To any one thinking of going to a decent hotel - its a "no brainer"'
