Would stay again but give the restaurant a miss
Really enjoyed our one night stay for husband's birthday. Very buzzy atmosphere on a Friday night the hotel bar was packed, great cocktails and atmosphere. Deluxe Double room was fine. I was impressed to receive a call from Reception a few days before arrival to reconfirm the booking and to ask what we wanted in the mini bar. However disappointed that there wasn't actually a mini bar in the room which was quite strange! Decor may not be to everyone's taste, v contemporary but the room was large and we liked it for a night. Didnt... more
Nice hotel but poor dinner
Hotel and its decor were very nice and its location very central. Rooms were very comfortable (bed in particular). Bar is ok but AVOID getting a late drink in redisents bar as it nearly costs double the price from day time prices. Food in Blakes rest. was quite poor. We were six people and none of us were really happy with the food. I ordered sole...the worst I ever had !! It was tough, which I never experienced before with Sole, so I imagion it was how it was cooked. Overall a good stay let down by bad quality food and bar prices. Eat... more
Noisy Friday
We stayed two nights in a Luxury Room at £145 per night, plus £16 pp extra for breakfast!! on Friday and Saturday Night. Our first room (No.103) overlooked Matthew Street and the single glazed windows allowed the street noise to keep us awake until 3am when the street drunks finally stopped shouting to one another went home. We complained about the street noise and changed rooms to one in the middle of the hotel for Saturday night (No. 121). This was much quieter but very small for a "Luxury Room". We also had problems with the Air Con in... more
perfect package
We have just returned from a two day package at the Hard Days Night. The total package cost £370. for two adults and was worth every penny. Included in the price Bed& Breakfast in a deluxe room ,one dinner in the brasserie, and a guided Beattles Tour in a private taxi. Best bits The hotel has a fantastc bar which looks amazing and is stocked with every drink/cocktail under the sun. The Head bar man served our drinks in the most splendid glasses whist giving us tips on making special cocktails. Bill our taxi driver... more
Lovely hotel
It is a lovely hotel with great decor. Our room was nice and clean, the maids came in every day. The staff were very polite and helpful. The restaurant was booked every night that we were there (3 nights over easter) but we looked on the bright side as it probably saved us money as the breakfast alone was £15! Went to the Bar in the evening - 2 cocktails costed roughly £17. When we returned to the hotel at night we were asked if we were guests or just going to the bar - we were given the impression if we hadn't of been guests... more
Hardly Luxury!
We stayed for one night in mid-March in a 'luxury' room but the lack of heat in the room just made for a miserable experience. I was extremely disappointed by the response of the staff in that no heater was made available when advised of the heating problem nor was there any apology at checkout (although we were assured that engineers were on their way - lucky for those arriving that day!). The lack of car parking on a very wet and windy day did not help the situation either. My advice would be to stay in the Premier Inn next... more
great hotel
Stayed in hard days night hotel on 21 and 22 march. Great hotel check in staff very helpful. Only snag is no car park but parking available near by.Rooms were very clean and modern flat screen tv tea and coffee making facilities even a coffee maker which was a nice touch.breakfast was a bit weird if you wanted a cooked brekkie you went into the main restaurant if you wanted continental you ate in the brasserie. what if you fancied a cereal and a fry? said it to staff and next morning had both cereal and cooked brekkie in brasserie. The... more
Great hotel!
We stayed in the Hard Days Night Hotel for one night last weekend while on a trip to see Liverpool play in Anfield. Loved the hotel. The staff are amazing - they couldn't do enough for us. Special mention to the porter that morning - he told us all about the hotel and showed us the function rooms, chapel and peace garden. Really friendly man. The room was the cheapest rate available. It was quite small but suited our needs perfectly - somewhere to sleep and change. The gadgets were pretty cool - handy switches by the bed to control all the... more
Great Hotel
Fantastic hotel, stayed for one night as a surprise from my wife on my 30th birthday, We were upgraded free to the paul mcartney suite. Very friendly staff, great location Breakfast very expensive (£15.00), Only problem with the suite was no dining table,Desk in the room with exposed cables( did`nt look very nice) mini bar was empty, and the shower was rubbish, I would not pay £650.00 for this suite. apart from that the best hotel i have stayed in. would reccomend to all.
Excellent hotel, great location but some tweaks still to be had
I booked the hotel through their website quite painlessly. It doesn't come with breakfast! It seems the reservation agent sent me someone else's confirmation email with their name and address and I promptly emailed back to tell them their mistake. Check in was very quick and staff super friendly. The hotel was much larger than I thought and not that OTT with the Beatles items. The room was enourmous with free wifi, great choice of TV, nice size shower, safe and tea making facilities. To get into the shower/ bath it is quite high so... more
