New Star Beach Resort

We stayed at New Star from 5 to 10 June and it was a wonderful experience in all respects. The resort is new, the rooms are well appointed - we are a family of 2 adults and 2 young children and we stayed in the "Suite Villa", which has separate living room and bedroom. We just returned from New Star and had a wonderful time. With a major overhaul completed in December, most of the resort is brand new, with modern yet warm architecture, lush gardens, and a pool/beach area that can't be beat. Rooms: we stayed in a palm room on the top floor of the building. Each are a little different. It all started out wrong. We had booked another resort based only on what was seen and read on their website. (I know, I know rookie mistake but we were "supposed" to be in Samui for a detox trip and basically fell for their literature at face value.) Our family of seven stayed four nights at the New Star Beach Hotel. Overall we had an excellent stay. We booked three rooms - two palm rooms and one suite villa. All three rooms were clean, spacious and had good sea views. The palm rooms (we had one twin and one king) were some of the best rooms we have stayed in for the price. We stayed in a suite villa room which had a lovely large bedroom and good bath room and also large lounge with tv and sofa, the furnishing's were excellant quality and there was also a nice balcony. The beach is for hotel residents only and despite non-stop vendors all day is lovely. The pool is great and is as good as it looks in the photo's. Stayed at hotel for 11 nights bed and breakfast. Arrived to a very friendly welcome and welcome drink. Hotel is brand new and very clean and tidy. Stayed in excellent room - the bathroom was AMAZING ! The views from the balcony were fantastic. When having a bath you can see and hear the sea - pretty spectacular. Very nice hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Very helpful and friendly staff! Excellent service. We enjoyed our stay very much. We can really recommend the hotel. Everything was lately renovated. Well done! The beach is also very clean and quiet. For those who want to relax is Chaweng Noi much better than the crowded Chaweng Beach.

What a stay!! We were in Main chaweng within the hustle of the city for 2 nights and had intentially planned to close the holiday at Samui with a quiet and an exotic getaway. We were glad to have chosen New Star.I would highly recommend the Ocean View Cottages for the perfect feeling of living on the Beach. The New Star Beach Resort at Koh Samui has just been refurbed and I don't think you can find a better place to stay on the island. Escaping the racket of the main beach, this resort just south of Chaweng has got a beautiful beach, and easy access (by taxi) for getting back to the shops, bars and restaurants. We stayed her for two weeks in one of the three Deluxe beach front bungalows. You are right on the beach which is great to wake up to. The beach it' self is fantastic and very quiet. The water is crystal clear and you can walk right into the sea for a 100m before you get upto you waist. The Hotel staff are polite and helpful. The breakfast food is OK but the evening meals were quite poor, but there are a number of places to eat along the beach which are out of this world.
