Handy, cheap, good service
from BundyQueensland
We got a good deal online, early check in, no extra cost, 8.30am. Checking in took minutes, the staff are all helpful and friendly. The room is spacious, bathroom good. The shower has a droop problem. It's fairly clean and relpenished every day. Shampoo, cotton buds, shower cap, bottled water and towels. Comfy, firm beds. Handy to the markets. If you go to the rear of the hotel, there are markets for the locals. They look at you but it is an eye opener! LOL We have eaten stall food, cheap, 10 ringitts for 2...

decent budget hotel
from gdjesi
The hotel is very clean, the rooms are small but have no windows (at least the one I stayed in which was the cheapest one at RM 78, but it is no big deal) and the staff were courteous. Overall, it was a decent place. The breakfast is very nice and provides great local food. A downside to the hotel was that the walls tend to be thin so you hear other guests quite a bit. I am easily woken up so that was a problem. If you are a non-smoker, ask to be placed in a room further away from the lifts. My room was located next to the lift area...

Why I won't say here again
from richdad1
If your budget is less than US$25/night, for RM78 net (about US$24) night (no tricks), if you are not a light sleeper, staying 2 nights here (max.) won't kill you. Here are some problems I faced at room 304 in early Jan: 1. Toilet does not work properly. Bathroom sink way too small and shallow. 2. Whenever your neighbors flush their toilet, be prepared to hear flushing/running water sound. 3. If you get a room facing the main street, you get lots of noise from the heavy traffic and the in your face monorail track. A room...

Cheap and Basic
from ozecouple
Located in Chow Kit area of Kuala Lumpur, we chose this hotel because of the low price and proximity to some friends who live nearby. Hotel is very basic - we had the cheapest room available and it was small, had no windows and was bright orange! However it was clean and had a great shower! Seems to be mainly locals that stay there, very few tourists. Staff were professional but not really friendly. Very no frills - but for the price was a nice alternative to backpackers. We paid the extra for breakfast each day but don't recommend as...

Fair enough-
from andreiJancee08
Good enough for its price. Service is poor though. Needed to call twice (or more) for them to send someone to check on things like hair dryer, water heater, etc. Anyway, if you don't really intend to stay much time in the hotel (just for sleeping or resting), this is a good place. Good location - near Monorail station (Chow Kit) and also MRT. Near shopping area.
Another good night
from watson_tofu
In fact, I used to stay for a night at the Cititel Express last year in September in the troupe of some 60 students and three teachers including me. We visited Malaysia for three days, two nights as part of the students' Business English outbound experience in their fourth year before graduation. Last week, we spent the night (August 26) at this Hotel again. I stayed alone in a spacious room (6th floor) with complete relaxation. However, I didn't enjoy watching TV programs since most of them were in Malaysian. It was sad for me who...

Great budget 3 star hotel
from ElNinoTorres
A highly recommended budget hotel. Clean tidy and with wireless broadband internet access in the room. (with extra charges of course) Wow! You can get the rate as low as RM78 per night when you book the room early via the hotel website. I stay in the superior room and get to view the Petronas twin tower. How cool is that. Please do not that this is a budget hotel so there is no swimming pool or gym facility. There are cafe and restaurant in the hotel tho. The Chow Kit Monorial station is just within walking distant. From there you can...

Clean and Nice Room. Nothing else.
from Y_Chan
Stay for 2 days in sept 2007. A simple, basic and decent room. The beds were clean. Shower working nicely. Towels provided were clean. The only negative side is the parking lot, u have to drive thru a back lane to get there. The lane is a dirty dump area. As a result the parking lots smell too (without the rubbish). I got a back room which over look this lane. However if u look upward u see the petronas tower. So look up, don't look down. If u are just looking for a basic clean room then this may work for u.
Desperately needs refurbishment
from Pleiadestemplej
I had stayed at the Stanford 5 years previously, after visiting relatives. I can remember the relief at getting some peace + quiet after all the kids, grandkids, hangers-on, etc crowding round their tiny house. And the air-conditioning and lovely view were just icing on the cake! However, this time round I was on my honeymoon and had already stayed at the Mandarin Oriental and Renaissance New World 5* hotels. This, and the fact that nothing appears to have changed at the Stanford in the intervening period, has led me to mark it...

Liked the Stanford KL
from onlysue88
I would recommend Hotel Stanford situated at Jln Tuanku Abdul Rahman as I was met by friendly & warm reception staff. Room-wise, it's just nice for me, my mum and a little girl to stay in a Superior/Deluxe room. I was travelling with my aged mum and my little girl aged 4 and Mr Hussein, one of the Front Office staff, was very courteous & kind, and also offered me advice in shopping around the vicinity due to some pickpockets who will target guests who are unaware. Highly recommended for those who need reasonable & friendly services!
