Smart luxury in middle of building site

Very new and smart budget hotel with all the amenities you could want. The downside is that it it is on the edge of a busy road/industrial park and opposite one of the biggest building sites in Spain (Reinvention of Malaga Airport).Rooms were excellentlly soundproofed. Having said that we were without a car and founbd bus communication (cotraryu to other reviewers) excellent, Malaga in 20 minutes, Torremolinos in 10 minutes. Once the work is done all will be well.
Good Airport Hotel

We were in a rented car and speak Spanish and got several sets of directions, but could not find the "hidden " turn-off for the hotel. Finally, we left the car back to the airport and took a very expensive taxi to the hotel --- just down the road from the airport ... We arrived hot and bothered and were served a lovely cold beer to cool our nerves and bad tempers! That is the only fault I could find with this hotel. You can't find it! Very comfortable rooms with view of the fields & planes & great breakfast. Friendly fellow...

They seriously need to get a shuttle bus!

The hotel is fine...new, modern, rooms are good...what you would expect from an airport hotel. There is just one problem, getting to and from the airport! I am looking for accommodation that is near the airport for an overnight flight transfer but have chosen not to stay at the Holiday Inn Express because I object to being ripped off by the local taxis. A huge mistake

If you're traveling by car, this hotel is impossible to find at night. Believe me, we tried. Eventually we gave up and decided to return the rental car at the airport that night and take a cab to the hotel. It's an airport hotel literally adjacent to the airport-- how much could it be? Turns out, there's a minimum 19 euro charge plus a euro per bag each way. A round trip from the airport by cab would cost nearly as much as the room. Great Staff

Stayed at this hotel on and off for a few weeks. After checking in for the first night decided to stay as the rooms are immaculate, and breakfast is quite good. Could not fault bedrooms, bathrooms or the staff,10 out of 10 Access fron the main highway is not the best, with Large trucks blocking the path a lot of the times. Taxi's charge way to much to anf from the airport which is about 10min walk, shuttle bus would be a great idea. Also, it would be a great idea to creat an outdoor patio area for visitors to relax and enjoy...

Pleasantly Surprised

Stayed at this hotel as we were catching an early flight the following morning. Hotel is as expected, staff were great, rooms were clean and breakfast was better than expected, it is also very convenient for the aiport. However, you should be warned that there are no restaurants/bars etc, if you have time to waste around the hotel and it can cost approx 25-30euro for a taxi into Malaga

Had spent a fantastic 4 days in Seville but had an 1130 flight out of Malaga back to UK and the 2 hour train journey did not fit in with that timetable so booked into the Holiday Inn Express for our last night in Spain, especially when an internet blurb had said the hotel was avery short walk of just a few minutes to the airport. This is a brand new hotel, located just next to the airport. Parking is free, which is a great feature. Plus, it is located only a few minutes away from the airport and Malaga city center. It is also very close to the wonderful city of Torrmolinos. Staff is very polite, pleasent and highly -qualified. Rooms are great: Super clean and brand new. Breakfast is very good, huge variety of food. All in all, this is probably one of the best budget hotels you can find in the area of Malaga.
TAXI FGARES

The hotel was everything as advertised and all thaat you could expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The problem was the Taxi fare . They charged us 15 euros for a less than half mile journey. We could easily have walked or stayed in town and paid the same amount for the taxi fare. It made staying next to the airport ( in a not very nice spot) rather poinless and certainly didn't save us any money.

I booked this hotel through the Holiday Inn Website, since we were arriving in Malaga late afternoon but actually had to travel on with a rented car. I thought it was sensible to stay close to the airport and leave the next morning. The website offered an advance payment rate of 64 € for the room which sounded pretty good and the hotel was advertised as the hotel closest to the airport. New hotel - convenient locaiton to Malaga airport - but beware of taxi fare

As we had an early morning flight and a long drive to the airport, we checked in the evening before our departure. The hotel is 5-10 minutes drive from the airport and is nestled in a retail park. The rooms were spotless and fair value, booked directly on-line. There is a restaurant nearby but we arrived too late. As the hire car needed to be returned to the airport and that we left early in the morning, I thought it would be sensible to return the car then take taxis.
