Ascott Kuala Lumpur

Stayed in Ascott for 4 nights in mid-August. We had the one-bedroom suite and it was big. It had a separate living room with a small kitchenette, complete with microwave oven, utensils and a fridge. The bedroom was huge with a walk-in wardrobe and bathroom with separate shower and bath tub. The hotel provides complimentary bottled water (replaced every day) and some snacks. amazing hotel, gorgeous apartments . you can't get closer to the petronas towers than this.

The Ascott is the epitome of comfort and simple elegance. One wouldn't have to worry about being suffocated by the excesses of overindulgence. The two room apartment I stayed in came with double ensuites and the bathroom to the master bedroom had a large separate walk-in shower and twin vanity sinks, complete with L'occitane range of toiletries. The night view of the Petronas Towers on the 22nd floor was simply breathtaking, the pool area is a perfect quiet spot to gather for a chat and drinks. Overall a very good experience as I planned a party at the serviced apartment for one nite and had 18 'visitors' in there without any cramming etc in the one bedroom apartment. No complaints from anyone as we turned up the volume to dance. And the reception was so helpful to even escort or bring people up to our room! After 10pm, we hit the clubs and the proximity to the PRamlee Party strip is great, as we have Rum Jungle, Aloha, Beach Club and Hard Rock Cafe a stone throws away. We arrived late in KL and we took the KLIA Express to KL Sentral and for 16 RM we took a taxi to the Ascott. We came to the Ascott late at night and the lobby area is small but pretty nice. The check in was pretty fast and we got two key cards to be used for the elevators and the door to our room. Booked a one-bedroom apartment for MYR 350.00. For the price, I was pretty happy for the size of the room. Room included a sofa set, kitchen and a small dining table. Stayed at the 21st floor with a balcony view of the two Petronas Towers. Location couldn't be beat. Right across KL's fabulous Suria KLCC Shoping Center. Although the Mandarin Oriental is closer to the KLCC, The Ascott's location wasn't bad either...5 minute walk to KLCC. I was highly impressed with The Ascott. After staying at the Mandarin Oriental last year. I didn't think I would be satisfied with much else. We took a 1 bedroom suite at MO and a 2 bedroom apt at The Ascott. We saved so much more and had the extra room. We spent less than half as we did with MO It was great considering we have 2 children (8 & 4) They enjoyed the TV Channels and snack basket. We had plenty of privacy. When I first walked into the Ascott’s 2 bedroom apartment, I was overwhelmed and uttered “ahhhhhh….” and “wowww…..” and “oooooooohhhh…..” as I ventured every bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living room for that first day. These remarks continued as I surveyed the swimming pool area, which is located on the 22nd floor. Recently returned from KL and a stay at the Ascot. Had read other reviews and hoped the breakfast had improved, but it hadn't ! We stayed in a Grand Delux 2 bedroom (Grand Delux is just a higher floor). It is worth going for a higher floor as the road noise could be a problem. Believe the GD are from floor 23 upwards. The apartments are in good condition and generaly well equiped.(malaysian apartments never seem to have any clocks in them, either the bedroom or the lounge ??). the staff were excellent and helpfull. Just got back from living in a suite here for 7 weeks. The Ascott is smoething of a hybrid between an apartment and a hotel. There is a 24-hour reception service, permanent concierge to organise taxis etc, daily housekeeping service, laundry, and so on.
