A week before arriving Krabi, I'd booked directly with the Reservations Dept, Krabi Resort for the promo package, 'stay 4 nites-pay 3 nites'. First booking, I'd wanted to stay at the Hotel Main Building, Deluxe Room. But after discovering that there're renovations going on in the resort near the main building, I changed my booking to Deluxe Bungalow Row C-F. Stayed here one week together with my wife. We booked through sawadee.com and got the low-season offer "stay 7 nights - pay for 5". We booked the de-luxe bungalow with garden view, and the price was apx 1800 bath/night incl breakfast. We found that to be fantastic value. Smooth check-in with a welcome drink. We were taken to our bungalow (E-4) in a golf car, and we where surprised that it was even bigger than we had excpected. The porch was big and had two recliners, two chairs and a small table. We stayed at Krabi Resort for 10 nights at the start of July, after staying 3 nights at Centara Grand Beach Resort Krabi. We travelled as a group of 6 and stayed in 3 sea view bungalows (rows A and B). The bungalows were great!! Only one tiny hiccup, where my boyfriend and I were given twin beds in our room but this was quickly rectified. The bungalows were very clean and spacious and the inside was fairly modern. Went there as 2 couples. Stayed at the room located on the 3rd floor. (no lift on this block) Room was clean and was facing the pool. Bathroom flush was kinda not working properly but was ok. The other couple had problem with their safebox and flush but was resolved before night. Breakfast buffer was good with western choice such as bacon, eggs .. yogurts. Great food. We stayed 2 nights in Rembrandt in Bangkok and then spent 14 nights at this hotel. We were upgraded from a garden view bungalow to a seaview one on arrival and it was lovely. This is our 4th time in Thailand and second time in Krabi and it was one of the best places we stayed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the location was great, near to the beach, the beach restaurants and walking distance to the shops and bars. Just returned from a 16 day stay (last two weeks March) at the superb Krabi Resort Hotel (not to be confused with several like-sounding hotels in Ao Nang.) Booked through LetsGo2 through Asiaworld and all flights, transfers, hotels (two nights in Rembrandt Hotel, Bangkok as well), were faultless. My partner and I have just returned from an excellent 8 night stay at Krabi Resort. The location is perfect, close to the beach where you can catch a longtail boat to the many surrounding islands. The restaurants, shops and bars are only a short walk away, with a wide variety to choose from. We stayed in a Seaview Bungalow, although it may not be as modern as other hotels in the area it was still a good size and very clean. Stayed at the Krabi Resort from August 24-27, 2007 with wife and 3 year old. Nice location and walking distance to town and all the restaurants. Yet it is secluded in a nice and quite tree-lined area. Most of the bungalows were under construction(we knew this before-hand), but the main building was in good shape for being the oldest resort in the area. Stayed 5 nights at Krabi Resort, room in mainbuilding. I was a bit worried rooms would be dated since this is one of the older properties in the area but no we were very happy with our room - definitely good 3star standard. Pool area is nice with a big pool , plenty of chairs , umbrellas and a pool bar but I imagine the area might get crowded during high season. Breakfast was more than OK . Despite Krabi being overrated, the hotel is decent and good value. During the rainy season (May-October) the beaches are not that nice as the sea gets quite churned up and the tide does go out a really long way, making swimming possible only a few hours a day. The property itslef has a decent sized pool with plenty of sun shade. Try and take a bungalow, not a room.
