Capella Ixtapa

One of the newer properties to be built in the Ixtapa area is Capella Ixtapa, a cliff-side retreat about ten minutes north of Ixtapa town. We used the beauty salon, and did not think that the attendant new her job, even if she was very nice. At night during dinner we mentioned this to the manager on duty and his reaction was outstanding. He invited us the dinner and drinks, wanted to refund the payment of the beauty salon and called later to be sure all was well. In every place in the world something can go wrong, but the reaction of the staff to it, is what makes the difference between, just a hotel and a great hotel. Our experience was absolutely amazing - truly the nicest resort we have stayed. The service was impeccable, views spectacular and the amenities were amazing. Staying at this resort was like a relaxing spa experience. The tranquil smell of teak woods and sounds of water made this a relaxing experience. This is a great way to unwind.

The level of service is phenomenal….too many unexpected experiences and little things to list. The view from every room is perfect….even the lowest price room. The food is world class….not in a ”good for Mexico way”, but world class. There is no doubt in my mind that this hotel will be rated as one of the top in all of Mexico once the word is out. Beautiful hotel, set in a stunning landscape.Great service.

I have to say i read all the reviews before i went and was concerned because it's new. But i was pleasantly surprised. First the positives: The hotel just opened a few months ago and is running lower rates to bring in guests. at $350 per night for the standard room you don't need to upgrade it's not worth the extra money. The standard room has a large bedroom large dressing area and a bathroom and shower which open up to a beautiful ocean view. Capella Ixtapa was breathtaking. The most beautifully designed, decorated and situated hotel I've ever visited. My boyfriend and I booked a 3 night getaway, hoping for a private, luxurious, relaxing vacation. Capella met our needs to perfection. From the time we entered the gates of Capella, we never wanted to leave this slice of heaven, and this is the best place we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Outstanding hotel for a vacation. The staff was wonderful and understood English. They were very attentive to all our needs. The food was terrific in all the restaurants and the plunge pool in our room (each room has one) was a relaxing place to enjoy the guacamole, chips and beer that was delivered to our room each day at 5 PM. Your favorite fruits were delivered fresh daily to your room along with the restocking of sodas and water in your fridge. I just loved this hotel and I am looking forward to visiting again very soon.

We stayed at the Capella Ixtapa resort from Jan 12-19. Although they are still finishing some of the rooms on one wing of the hotel, it is a beautiful property that is staffed with some of the kindest, most helpful employees you will ever have the pleasure of interacting with. Having stayed at some of the higher end resorts in Mexico such as Palmilla in Cabo, I can honestly say that Capella Ixtapa ranks up there with the best of them.
