The Black Horse Inn

Stayed here for one night with group of friends. All our 5 rooms were great; very clean, well equipped, quiet and cosy. Also much better than the pictures on their website which seem out of date. Sorry to say our evening meal was disappointing, but the full english breakfast next day was excellent. Would certainly stay here again, but probably take dinner elsewhere. Overall, a good value B&B.

Having looked at the usual web sites decided to ring this hotel direct to check availability/prices. An efficient and friendly response to my enquiry lead to a booking for the following week. Fortunately I was asked at the time of booking if I required a table for supper - thank goodness, as the place was really busy! I stayed at the Black Horse Inn for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The rooms were large, modern and really clean, with nice white towels and a warm quilt. The shower was amazing, and the breakfasts delicious. The evening meal in the pub was fantastic, it is worth booking a table as they were really busy. The B&B is about 5 minutes drive from Leeds castle and about 40 minutes drive from Dover. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

We stayed there for 2 nights end of may 2007. Check in was very friendy and helpful. Room was nice, had large bed, flat tv, enough working space, but was not really clean. There's a leaflet in the room that the fire detection sensors are very sensitive and that's what happened to us in the morning at 7.40, fire alarm (not caused by us) ! Excellent large, comfortable, clean room and very friendly staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was very good (and very popular). Thoroughly recommended.

The Black Horse was a great find just the right distance away from Dover and so close to the M20 although you wouldn't know it. The rooms (1xfamily,1x double) were very good,clean and comfortable. As they say on their own website it's advisable to book for dinner as it is extremely popular. Whilst the food was good ,waiting nearly an hour with kids isn't and even more so after a long journey. I hope this was a glitch! That said the breakfast was fine the following morning.

I took a party of 10 Danish golfers here whilst they were over playing courses around the area. As per previous comments, rooms were excellent as was the breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the pub was a great place to relax after the day's events. As a b&b I cannot really fault it. I have my reservations about the restaurant on busy nights, I don't think it can cope with the amount of covers it is trying to service, this opinion was formed however on a previous visit and not on this trip. My second visit to the Black Horse did not disappoint, although I had been concerned how the addition of more rooms might have affected it. In fact, it appears to have got even better! A very friendly, welcoming greeting in the well signed reception; clean, comfortable, airy rooms (water pressure is FANTASTIC in the shower!) attentive but not intrusive service in the restaurant with excellent food, well presented, (surprised to read an earlier reviewer's disappointment here) and a choice of just about any format of breakfast required, all... more

stayed here for one night to clebrate being married 13 years. it was lovely, lovely room, lovely food, very well organised and the staff were really friendly. the room was so organised there was even a umbrella for a wet visit to walk to the pub. will be staying here again. Just a hint on arriving at the hotel there was a note in the room it was cheaper to book over the phone, we booked over the internet so that's what we will be doing next anniversary!

Superb food, friendly & very helpful staff, modern, impeccably clean & well appointed rooms in a recently built log-cabin type annex, thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable, set amidst beautiful countryside.
