Another wonderful stay.
This was our second stay at Tigh na Cloich and everything was just as perfect as it was last year. Our rooms were lovely and the food was absolutely gorgeous. It amazes me to see people staying there and then going into town to eat in the evening when the food is as good as anything I have had in some of the nicest restaurants. We visited with our two teenage sons who have told me to say that it is very calm and relaxing, the service is excellent and the breakfasts are the best ever.
Really a guesthouse-nice accommodation, disappointed with dinner
We stayed at Tigh na Cloich in July for several nights. We found the room to be clean, nicely decorated & quiet, location of accommodation was within 2 minutes walk of Pitlochry main street, staff were friendly and breakfast was good. However, I think it should be advertised as a guesthouse rather than a hotel-as the facilities were of this standard. There is no bar as such- you order drinks(pricey) in the conservatory which has lovely views but is crowded with more than 4 people. Dinner was very disappointing after the reviews we read on... more
Convenient Location
This hotel is in an excellent location for walking around Pitlochry and the locks. We visited for 3 nights in April and celebrated our mother's 90th birthday with a very nice dinner and inscribed birthday cake provided by the hotel. We booked 3 rooms for our family. My room on the front was very comfortable and cheery with an adequate bathroom. The breakfasts were outstanding to be included in the price. We enjoyed the conservatory with it's lovely views as a family gathering place. The owners were very helpful.
Very nice, but not great.
We booked to stay here because the hotel, location and views looked nice and previous reviewers were enthusiastic about the food. We were not disappointed on any of these points. However, the bed in room 3 was uncomfortable and creaked loudly whenever you turned over (which was frequently). Other than that, we enjoyed our stay, especially the food which was excellent (although the dining room could have done with a little less hushed conversation and a bit more buzz in the evening - but that's not the hotel's fault!).
Brilliant
Spent a short break here (two days) and loved it. Found the hotel recommended on your website and must say it didn't disappoint. Food was lovely, hotel was spotless and staff very friendly. We will definitely go again.
Great Location and Food
We had a great 2 night stay at this well located hotel, situated just a block or so back from the main street with easy access to town via the large garden. Our room was lovely and bright, had a comfie bed and a superb view across the hills. The ensuite was fine although the shower was a little small. We ate at the hotel one night and it was excellent and good value. The service in the hotel was excellent in all departments with all the staff having the 'can do' attitude. Look no further for your Pitlochry hotel !
Absolutely Breathtaking
If you are thinking of visiting Scotland, you really must stay in Pitlochry, and for us, forget the larger commercial hotels please try this great hotel that we found. There is a lovely conservatory that has the most breathtaking views we have ever seen, not to mention the food is second to none, you would almost think you were in a top restaurant in London. There is a train station a few minutes away and a very reasonable car hire company in the town. We found this a great base to do our daily touring around each day, and especially to know... more
A very pleasant choice
We had initially considered staying in Pitlochry and I'd looked at the Tigh Na Clioch hotel then but wondered why there where no reviews at that time. We decided to go elsewhere in the Highlands but after a poor first night, revisited Pitlochry. The Tourist Information office suggested Tigh Na Clough and it appeared to be fate; we ended up there after all. It was a great choice. Our room was small (and the owner admited it was the one room without a view); that's probably why it was available at the last minute. We stayed three... more
Friendly and Welcoming
A very friendly, welcoming and clean hotel which offers good fresh food. Our second visit and not disappointed. Will go again having enjoyed our stay so much.
One in a million!
We have just had a holiday in the Highlands. The weather was disappointing but our accommodation could not have been better. We found the Tigh-na-Clioch Hotel online - and what a find!!! This small, family run hotel is by far the best we have ever stayed in; and that includes some of the largest, well known establishments around the world. We were welcomed on our arrival by the owners; to whom nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The en-suite rooms were bright, well furnished and immaculately clean; as was the... more
