Future Inn Plymouth

Travelling by car, I phoned the Future Inn at 7:00 pm to confirm my arrival at about 11:00 pm. The lady receptionist did not tell me the hotel was overbooked. I arrived at 10:30 pm to be told they were overbooked, my room had just been given to someone else on a first come first served basis, even though they knew I was on my way. Just spent two nights at the Future Inn, Plymouth with my husband and two friends and could not fault the quality and cleanliness of the large, airy rooms and spotless bathrooms. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the restaurant manageress was exceptional. We used the hotel restaurant (Fishbone) each evening and were pleasantly surprised with the food and the prices. Room and bathroom were superb for the price. Breakfast was also much better than we expected from this type of cheap & cheerful hotel. The business park location isn’t fabulous, but if you drive it’s not a problem. I've stayed in the Future Inn on about 6 occasions as it is convenient to my place of work. The Hotel is out of town and there isn't much to do unless you have a car or get a taxi into Plymouth. The reception staff are friendly but the same cannot be generally said about the restaurant staff. The restaurant staff behave as though they can't be bothered serving you. At breakfast they often ignore you and you can be waiting ages to get served: I often end up making myself a coffee with their facilities. The food is at best average.... more

New-concept 'hotel' (really a super-deluxe travelodge) which strips out stuff which is irrelevant and gives you all the basics and a bit more. Rooms are very good, although the double beds were just that (kingsize would be better). Restaurant serves good food, and seems to be very popular with locals which is unusual for these kind of places. Excellent carparking facilities. We found the hotel to be very clean, but the entry and reception areas lack "warmth" and is almost sterile feeling. It could use with some welcoming touches, such as another sofa and chairs, colourful rugs, potted plants inside and outside along with a bench to sit upon if you have to wait out there for your transport or bags. The beds and big pillows were wonderfully comfortable. The shower had great pressure and the bath towels/sheets were huge. Staff were friendly. Second time here in a few months. New, clean, friendly enough. Breakfast good but dont leave it till the last half hour. Needs to offer 24-hr room service, how hard would it be for the night porter/manager to make a quick sandwich and take it to a room? cant get anything after 10pm or something like that. Annoying. Even a vending machine would be better than nothing! Good value, just a bit out of town.

stayed here in september-everything from check-in to check-out was faultless-room spotless-staff attentive and the food in fishbone restaurant superb-woul not hesitate in staying here again-and what value!!!!!!!!!

Stayed here for 2 nights in September for our Wedding Anniversary. Great hotel, fab room (with iron, hairdryer, lcd tv, tea& coffee etc) and two very comfy beds. Restaurant is great and you may need to book (which we did) as it is very busy, particularly on a Saturday night, as lots of locals eat here. It is about 30 miles away from the Eden Project - which is where we wanted to go to. Overall excellent value for money. We had booked this hotel as we were travelling to watch the football match, Norwich V Plymouth! We had found the hotel from the internet football ground website, although the hotel is not in walking distance from the hotel.
