Halomy Hotel, Sharm El Sheikh
On a cliff top with spectacular views over Naama Bay and the sea. The energetic can walk down a series of steps into the centre of Naama Bay in a few minutes. Alternatively, you can take a 2km taxi drive into the centre. There is a small man made terrace and a private beach which can be accessed by steps from the hotel.

We were moved from initial hotel at our request and found the Halomy hotel very comfortable. Its it located on top of the cliff giving superb views across the stunning bay.
We were all inclusive and the food was perfectly acceptable, with something for everyone, and some very creative deserts.
One of the hotels biggest assets is its extremely helpful and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, with constant smiles for everyone.
Slight negatives include not very child safety orientated. Not entirely suitable for people with walking difficulties due to the height of steps, and a large flight of steps down to the town.

The hotel was great, room cleaned every day and petals thrown on the bed as well as 'towel art' The views are amazing and you cannot be unmoved by the sunrise and sunset over the bay. If you were in Monaco you would probably pay thousands for that view!!
I was treated with respect and looked after well. I think it might have helped that I learnt a few words in Arabic before I left the UK, just please and thank you etc. This seemed to be well received and they delighted in telling me many more words! LOL (Go on to goredsea.com for more info on words and phrases.)
The hotel will exceed your expectations of a three star I promise you.
The food was ok and there was something for everyone so no complaints there. eating out in Naama is also cheap but spirits can be pricey so always check out the price first. Gin and tonic 4-5 UK£'s !!
Not good for kids, so kindly don’t bring them!! LOL
There are tripping hazards and in places the grounds can be a little uneven. Plus you are on top of a cliff so I’ll say no more. The snorkelling is superb from their private beach, which was never crowded! Halomy hotel is on the Ras Mohammed National marine park and it is illegal to feed the fish so resist the urge and you wont get the fish upset and aggressive!

I was a bit nervous about this hotel as it was described as "budget" but I absolutely loved it here - as did all the other guests I came in to contact with.
The food is very Egyptian - and is delicious! The staff cannot do enough for you and really made the holiday for me - we have lots of addresses to write to now! Every day the cleaner will make more and more exotic creations out of towels on your bed, all decorated with flowers - he even tidies the entire room as well, not something that was ever expected really.
We went all inclusive and although we did not eat dinner at the hotel very often, this was only because it was so cheap in Sharm itself.
We are already planning to return to this hotel next year - something I always said I would never do! My advice is simply to book it!

I got back from my holiday last night, and I will definitely be booking up again to go to this hotel.
The people couldn’t of been more helpful around the hotel, the steps which people have complained about going in to the bay were nothing and the rooms were fine.
We had a room over looking the sea, when we first got their we had a room which was over looking the pool and I asked if I could change to a room with a sea view and they did this straight away, this room had amazing views so do ask for a room with a Sea view when you get their at reception.
The only pain really was the shower, but this you can live with. Also for the ladies, it does say they have a hairdryer so I didn’t take mine, well their hairdryers are not great it would be quicker someone blowing on your hair, so make sure you take your own.
Other than that the food was fine and I am a fussy eater. We went half board, we didn’t eat tea at the hotel it was that cheap to eat out and the Restaurants were lovely. I spoke to other people who had been to Sharm a few times before and they had stayed in 5* hotels and they thought The Halomy was better, maybe the standard isn’t as good as the others but the waiters etc are great and the hotel has the best views, plus with it being on a hill you get the breeze which is great!
So if your looking for a nice pleasant hotel with friendly staff, I would recommend this place.

This holiday was great apart from the hotel. Naama bay is good, the diving excellent and restaurants in the town excellent value.
This hotel however, was not. According to the MED HOTELS, it is classed as 4 star, this is a joke it is nearer 2 star.
The AI guests are made to feel unwelcome compared to the HB guests. You get all your drinks by the glass, even water - when the shop on site sells 2lt bottles for 20pence!!! We received lager in wine glasses, which was poured from bottles that were open so it was flat! The food was OK. In order to get your drinks they gave you a piece of card, which we had to replace several times because it got wet, they even asked for the card when you clearly had just got out of the pool.
The first week of our holiday there were 4 AI guests, they put a full buffet lunch on for us which was left over from the night before - when none of us turned up due to trips out - it was wasted. We managed to get something off the menu from the pool bar. When more AI guests arrived the 2nd week, we were reverted to the left over buffet!
We felt so badly treated that we ate out at Lunch and evening meal. I will be writing to MED Hotels to complain and get them to change their advert because this hotel is not a 4 star!!! and it is false advertising considering the other 4 - 5 star hotels available for similar prices with Naama Bay!!

Was a bit wary of the holiday as it was the cheapest and best value for money, however, we did have a fantastic time and are thinking of going to the same hotel next year.
We had a beautiful view over Naama bay. The rooms are nice but our bathroom was a bit grotty though and the shower dribbled and the water comes out yellow at first. However, on our last day we had a day room and the bathroom was a lot nicer, I think we just had bad luck with the room (but we didn’t want to query it as the view over Naama bay was more worthwhile).
All the staff is really friendly. It was in a great location if you don’t mind the 100 or so steps between the hotel and Naama bay - we tended to wait till the evening when it was cooler as doing it in the daytime was a bit unbearable! The beach is very small, it’s not really a beach but a man made terrace ( again bit of a trek up the steps back from the terrace ) but if you like snorkelling then the fish are much better than at proper beaches. Bear in mind that the beaches on Naama bay are pretty much all privately owned by hotels.
Having visited other hotels in the area, one major advantage at Halomy is the price of the food and drinks – e.g. kosha kebab and chips about 20 Egyptian pounds (£2), bottle of water from the shop 2 Egyptian pounds (20p). The breakfasts aren’t too bad a bit repetitive – for the English they had toast and a guy made omelette and there are plenty of pastries. I enjoyed the dinners which was always rice with an assortment of other dishes usually chicken, beef, potatoes, cauliflower…
In all I found the hotel was fantastic value for money ( two weeks half board for £360 each). One more thing is that you should expect to get the ‘Egypt lurgy’ – either the squits or sickness but people from all hotels experienced this.
Overall, if you’re after an exotic budget holiday to experience Egypt and you’re not after 4 star treatments, then this hotel is perfect!

Firstly if you need any help at the hotel,. Ahmed on reception is very helpful at all times. The selection of food could be slightly better to cater for the British but overall very good, all the staff are helpful and obliging at the hotel. This is my ninth visit to Sharm ad would recommend this hotel but only with sea view overlooking Namma Bay at night - Breathtaking

Halomy Hotel was situated in a fantastic location, out of the way of Naama Bay but with a wonderful view of the whole of the bay, but once down the steps (of which there were about 100 )you were in the centre of Naama bay.
The pool was a tad cold but the house reef as such definatly made up for this. The fish were wonderful so lots of pictures taken.
The food could be improved upon to cater for the English visitors and I do not just mean full english breakfasts, things like english toast and a more varied menu of which I believe they are starting with shortly. The staff were all very attentive and friendly.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and if we did go back we would not hesitate to return to the same hotel.
