One of the nicest places!!
My husband and I stayed here for one night only but we had the most enjoyable time. The hotel is a charming boutique style that is just gorgeous. It isn't a super old building but it turns out that when they were refurbishing it, they found old Roman ruins on the site so you can actually see the Roman cistern in their lobby. When we arrived (it was 45 C / 118 F), we immediately were asked what we would like to drink and they served us cold cervezas and nuts while we got checked in. Our room was beautiful. Old world - style decor. Off in a... more
Perfect Boutique Hotel in the Jewish Quarter
My favourite of all the places we stayed in Spain, it's a 3-Star, boutique-like hotel in the heart of the old Jewish Quarter in the historical center of Cordoba. Like many places we visited in Spain, I think this area has been designated a Unesco World Heritage Site. We arrived by taxi (between 3.5 and 5 Euros) and marvelled at how he drove through the narrow streets. The front desk staff all spoke English (certainly better than my newly learned and limited Spanish). They made dinner reservations and bus reservations for our visit to... more
Beautiful! Loved it!
We stayed at this hotel for two nights in July 2007. We booked a standard room. The property is gorgeous. Everything was impeccably maintained. The courtyard patios are charming. We stayed in room 271, which was very well appointed. The nice reproduction antique furniture and quality linens made the room very comfortable. Even the toiletries were of good quality. Breakfast was excellent and was served on one of the two patios. There was always fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs to order, and baked goods. A meticulous attention to detail can... more
a hidden gem
We booked the hotel based on tripadvisor reviews and were very pleased. The hotel has only 9 rooms and our room while small was nicely furnished. The hotel and staff seemed to think of everything- free internet access in the room, quality linens, toiletries and towels, lovely bathroom with jacuzzi, filling and quality breakfast, free parking, flat screen TV, room safe. Hotel is located in the old quarter but their directions were good and we were able to navigate the streets in our car and find the hotel without too much fuss. We would... more
Truly a hidden gem
We stumbled across this beautiful hotel while wandering the streets of Cordoba - we didn't like our reserved hotel, and came across this around the corner. It was an EXTRAORDINARY pleasure - we were 3 women traveling, and they accomodated us in 2 rooms the first night, and then a triple the second night, so we saw several rooms, and all of them were beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and filled with every perfect detail. The breakfast was amazing, every choice you could want, just delicious. As others have said, the service is... more
Almost a boutique hotel in the beatiful Jewish quarter
La Hospederia El Churrasco was a lucky find amongst all the hotels on offer in Cordoba. Only 9 rooms, all beautifully decorated and located in the heart of the Jewish quarter - everything is a 5-10min walk away. Personal welcome with a complimentary glass of wine in one of the two beautiful patios. Easy access (to get there) and by the time you have to tackle the daunting drive to exit the city through the old quarters you have had ample time to relax in this beautiful oasis of tranquility. Must be said that there are only queen size double... more
Loved the Ambience
Hotel had good reviews so we booked on others advice . Let us say that the advice was impeccable . The hotel is absolutely charming , SPOTLESSLY clean and very well maintained. The staff were extremely helpful , right from the moment we arrived , offered us a glass of wine and the receptionist insisted on carrying our two large suitcases up the stairs to our room by himself . The room was not large, but normal by european standards . It had free internet wireless service ( unusual as all the other places we have stayed charge ) and... more
Very nice
A great small hotel! Beautiful, perfect location, incredibly friendly, helpful, professional staff who were very anxious to please. Very charming. Our rooms were on the first floor and the window was on the street, if you are a light sleeper it might be better to be upstairs. Alot of nice amenities in the room. There was a very nice breakfast included with the room. We had our children with us and we felt welcome however, the room furnishings were very nice and it is quiet inside the hotel.
Charmin
We arrived at Cordoba without Hotel reservation (March 26, 2007) and happened to find this charming Hospederia passing by in our morning walk in the narrow streets of La juderia. Its charm caught our attention from the outside and decided to give it a try. The service was impeccable. The room had dimensions you don;t expect for the price in this part of the world. Wood floors, flat TV, a desktop with internet connection, oversize jacuzzi bath, bath ropes and you own private terrace where you can have your breakfast (included in the... more
A wonderful experience!
I stayed at the Hospederia de el Churrasco with friends for 2 nights, from January 3rd to 5th. It is rated as a 3-star hotel, but it is really fabolous. It lies in the middle of the Juderia, a few steps far from the Mezquita. It seems to be in a private house, with a little nice patio in the middle, living rooms with books and table games; receptionists are all nice and helpful, waitresses too. The continental breakfast is fine. Every room is different, in a typical classic style, and fully equipped with TV, minibar, computer with free... more
