Not suitable for females
from Geema
Having been told on website that there would be ample parking, my three friends and me decided to take 2 cars to accomodate all our luggage. On arrival we found that not only did they NOT have a car park but there was very limited resident's parking near the hotel! After fighting to find a parking space we eventually got in to the hotel and was told (well actually the receptionist shouted at everybody in reception as if we were a bunch of children (which on reflection a lot of the clientele are) to sit in the bar and wait for her to come...

Sub zero standards (genuine review)
from holidaychic-1
The website to this place is very deceiving. Seven girls booked this place for a hen holiday. We were informed that it was a sea view, we'd have 2 bathrooms, and a spacious room. We were also told that the accomadation included breakfast. In reality, our room encompassed 4 single bunk beds, 1 bathroom. No towels and no toilet roll. Our room was not cleaned once during our 3 night stay. No breakfast was included either. The room itself was very small without wardrobes, draws or cupboards so seven of us had to...

Stay away if you're female!!!
from Sharon0
When we arrived in our 2 cars at about 1pm, we could not find the car park, therefore we telephoned the hotel and asked where their car park was. I was asked WHY we wanted to know this and when I explained its because we had booked to stay in their hotel, they said they do not have a car park, even though the website stated they did! We were then told we were staying at their new hotel, Reef Island, so we got there to check in at about 1:15pm and were told we can't check in until 5pm and were not offered anywhere to store our cases! When we...

Four girls, with hefty suitcases...
from Jagno
We rocked up in two cars to accomodate our hefty suitcases having already read on the website that there would be ample parking to find this consisted of residential parking down side roads which was v misleading. We were told at the Surf lodge that we were staying at the new Surf Island, which was down the road and around the corner?! When we eventually found it using their handy directions we were told rather bluntly that check in wasn't until 5. After a very unorganised check in, I was allowed to check the room out which turned out...

awefull, way to small
from xlawx
me and my friends planned to stay at the reef surf lodge this summer, after traveling for 10 hours so the first thing we wanted to do was relax in our "modern" and "luxurious" room. However when we arrived at the lodge and checked in. We found our room was way to small. 7 of us couldn't even fit our suitcases and ourselves in the room! About half a metre space between the bunk beds, and no storage place we couldn't even lie our suitcases on the floor. And with one electric plug (which was for the TV) in a room for 7 people, it was just a...

if you put criminals in a room this small you would be violating human rights
from wolvesnick88
Right, after a tiring and cramped train journey all 6 of us were looking forward to chilling in the apparantly "luxurious" and "modern" apartment. after the desk attendants quickly snatched the £30 deposits of each of us i was asked to come and review the room we would be staying in...when i got in there i saw a small room with about 1 metre floor space in between beds, it consisted of 2 double bunk beds with a single bed on top. there was NO cupboard or wardrobe space, NO tables, chairs, not anything. and the bathroom was not much better,...

Rules Rules Rules
from marshylegend
We we part of a 26 man stag group staying for 2 night in June 2007. We booked our rooms online well in advance and after viewing the website were excited about the prospect of our stay. We left Liverpool at 7am and arrived at around 3.30pm, we were told to have a drink in the bar as we could not check in 'til 5pm, didnt know this before!. When in the bar a receptionist arrived with about 5 pages of rules and other stuff to read through, sign etc etc etc, a great start to a stag. The long and short of this is we each hand over £30.00...

Brilliant!
from Han7
My friend and I (20 yr old girls) stayed at the Reef Surf lodge for 3 nights on their surf and stay package in March. We thought that the lodge was excellent value. We paid slightly more than usual to have a room for 3 to ourselves. It had a double bunk on the bottom and a single on the top, both were a good size and comfy! There was plenty of floor space in the room as well as a small sink, mirror, TV and CD player. Everything was very clean and well kept. We had a shower room shared between two rooms, although the second room was empty...

Take a trip to jail.....
from BlaaBlaaBlaa
I'll start by saying if your thinking about staying there-DON'T!! The reef surf lodge is seriously like being in prison: uncomfortable bunkbeds no room to swing a cat a tiny shower room you cant fit more then one person in 1 poxey mirror for 11 of us 1 plug socket and rules fit for boarding school Could you imagine 11 females all getting ready in such a tiny room?!!! Well it was a nightmare Dont get me wrong when we first arrived we were well chuffed it looked really clean and funky, well until...

from bussycatbaby
We (11 of my mates) decided to stay at the reef surflodge because it looked really funky from the outside, we seen it 2 years ago when we were staying in a lodge up the road. we'd been traveling 2 1/2 hours when we finally arrived at reef surflodge...the very arrogant receptionist informed us we could not check in until 5 o'clock which we were all unaware of....ok fair enough we decided to go into town for a few hour(3)....when we got back we were then informed from the very arrogant receptonist that we all had to hand over £30 bond money...
