Nothing To Shout About
from winnyeoh
It looks nice when i 1st enter the resort ! ample of space at the lobby and great seaview. i stayed 2 nites there. there were noise coming from the bathroom coz the drainage system was not properly fixed, causing irritating noise :( the swimming pool looked good but not as clean as i expected it to be the moment i got down.. the staff are knowledgeable and the front liners speak english. however the other hotel crews kinda ignore ur existence. all in all the weird stares and dont make u feel welcome... there's a pub...

if you like rustic ambiance
from DeenaZarell
Our stay: Aug 14-16, 2008 Room# 223 (Superior Deluxe) We arrived at the resort around 1520hrs and surprised that our room was still not ready, standard check-in time supposedly at 1400hrs and we have to wait for half an hour for the housekeeping to prepare our room. We stayed in a Superior Deluxe, huge room with a king size four-poster bed plus a sofa bed. The condition of the room is alright, spacious enough for my two kids to roam around. We have our own private balcony facing the sea (but a tad too small) I love the window...

Past its sell by date
from pretaporter_8
Upon arriving, we were given adjoining rooms on the 3rd level. The porter/concierge was quite helpful in lugging 4 person's luggage up and down its many stairs. Upon reaching our rooms, we asked to be moved to a ground level as my mother dreaded the hike up and down. They obliged but we soon found that there was no 'ground' level and we were moved to level 1 which was nearly the same as staying where we were in the first place as you still had to climb up to level 2 to reach the lobby, as opposed to climbing down from level 3. Not a place...

Trying very hard
from jeremy0
Arriving late at night, I was disappointed to see the normal room being too cramped and so I upgraded to the super deluxe. It was huge, with plenty of space but the furniture was worned out and the amenities provided were lacking. Lack of slippers, bathrobes and complimentary drinking water is sad. The room service is so-so if you do not intend to travel out for food. The following day, we had buffet breakfast which was so-so and the spread is quite limited. After that, we spent the day browsing through the hotel grounds which was huge...

Go for the ambience and character
from travellerwithfamily
We stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. I loved the hotel because of the ambience and characteristic Malay architecture. All rooms face the sea, and the windows are covered with bamboo slits instead of curtains. Therefore you could go to sleep and wake up with the view of the sea and beach and sound of the sea. The grounds are very spacious and private. The grounds are covered with coconut palm trees and casuarina trees, therefore it was wonderful to continuously hear birds chirping. Nice to walk around the grounds as a couple or with family...

Nice....but overpriced
from vsgal
I visited Cherating for the first time with my family a week ago, staying at the Impiana for two nights. After paying a high price and seeing the pictures on the resort's website, we arrived with high expectations. However, the first impression was disaapointing. The resort's "traditional" architecture and design of wood and bamboo would have been charming if they were better maintained. As it is, it gives the impression of being worn out and old. The sea itself was not blue, but a brownish colour near the shore. There were no lifts...

Give it a miss
from schalcs
This is not a Hotel but sheds on stilts. !! We planned to stay several nights but left after one night. You have to walk to your room, which is up rickety wooden stairs ,through the open air treading in who knows what. The food is basic shopping mall fayre at hotel prices. Rooms are small poorly designed with limited amenities. Forget a peaceful siesta in the afternoon on the balcony with a drink and a paperback the balcony is nothing more than a corner partition with no chair or table. Staff I am sure are fine if...

2nd chance
from JemimaBond
Booked this with an agent, only after finding out that it would have been cheaper booking from the hotel website! Anyways, didnt have much expectations, and sure enough was neither disappointed or unhappy. Had an average experience, with the hotel having seen better days. The earlier reviews from people may have prompted some changes, which I saw slightly for the better. However, it has much potential with its Malay village exterior and wooden interiors etc. Breakfast was so so. What it needs is a turnaround and a lifeguard to stop people...

not good
from WesternAustraliaPat
stayed here march 2007, hotel very run down, room quite large and beds comfortable but thats about it on the positive side, water cut off for 5 hours one day, no electricity when we returned to our room at 23.00 hours first night, staff disinterested in problems, breakfast rubbish apart from eggs/toast and coffee, sunlougers around pool were wooden with no cushions[read unable to lie on them and still walk,] pool wasnt very clean and spa not working, no sunloungers available on beach, and NO umbrellas or shade, pass on this hotel unless you...

over rated & over priced impiana
from bunga_tanjung
We spent 3D/2N at impiana resort cherating at end of march 2007. It was our first time in cherating and we were looking forward to our mini vacation. We had great expectation of the hotel especially after checking out its website. We liked the superprior deluxe seaview room which has a livingroom so much (on the website) that we decided to book one. After 3-long hour drive from KL, I was expecting a friendly welcome greeting at the reception desk. I was wrong. There were a few resort staff at the desk but none of them looked up and...
