Landhaus Roscher

Spent a very enjoyable week in Mayrhofen with my wife and two children during August. We were allocated the Landhaus Roscher by Inghams on arrival and we certainly weren't disappointed, It was thoroughly clean on our arrival and kept that way by attentive staff during our stay. Good service and a very friendly relaxed atmosphere created by Gunther ensured that our holiday was an outstanding success. I would have no hesitation in going back to Mayrhofen and would definitely recommend the Landhaus Roscher.

The hotel is dirty and very smokey- everywhere! I have stayed in many 4* and 5* hotels around the world and this does not qualify as a 4*. The rooms are a good size but lack cleanliness and luxuriance. They are basic to say the least... old bed linen with holes, dirty walls and fixtures, a carpet and bathroom than have come from the 60's and held the dirt along the way, sandpaper towels, oh and not forgetting the overwhelming smell of smoke that filters upwards from the clubs and bars below that does not go away- no matter how much cleaning... more

A tripadvisor, England The website of the Sporthotel Strass does not prepare you for the reality of this hotel! The hotel is part of 3 hotels under the Strass name and are all within the same grounds. Considering the 4* claim we expected at least a decent hotel/room/facilities. Just returned from a fantastic week of skiing in Mayrhofen, Austria. The Landhaus Roscher is very good value and the rooms have all the basics you need (after all, you don't spend that much time in the room on a ski holiday). The location is good if you don't want to be right in the centre of town amongst the bars and nightlife (but still easy walking distance). We were a group of 9 with varying winter holiday experience. I have stayed at many Austrian hotels in the past, and found the Sporthotel Strass to be too large and slightly shabby. Our room was blandly decorated and clean but needed to be freshened with paint and new carpet (which had holes in it). The lounges and bars which are raved about in the brochures are inpersonal and for me, too large. They were the opposite of cosy! My husband and I spent the last 2 weeks in May here, on a walking holiday. We had booked a junior suite, but on arrival were upgraded to a "penthouse suite". This was a spacious, airy room with dressing area, a lovely large bathroom with bath and double shower cubicle, a separate loo, balcony and wonderful mountain views. just returned from fabulous holiday at the strass garni hotel. this is rated 3* hotel, but guests eat and have use of all the facilities at the 4* strass hotel next door. The hotel is in the centre of mayrhofen , ideally situated for cable cars and local transport. all the staff were extremely pleasant, efficient and courteous,. I've stayed at a number of 4 star hotels - The Hotel Strass does not come into this class. The service overall was mediocre, there was not enough choice with the meal menus (paid to eat out two evenings of the week), & the quality of the accomodation was below the expected standard. This hotel comprises 2 hotels in 1 - the Strass which is much older and the Sport which is modern and updated. The first room we were given was in the older Strass and was dreadful - it was small and dark and very basic. The separate toilet and bathroom were small and even darker. Having paid extra to move to a room in the Sport complete with balcony, it was much improved but disappointingly shabby.
