OK
OK. Could have been better, but could have been worse.
Couldn't have been more helpful
I feel i must write to compliment the staff and Management of The Langley for their efficiency and help in organising our recent stay there. We were a cricket touring group (who have been travelling this part of Kent for 42 years) with numbers that changed up until the last minute. The booking was seamless and the changes handled perfectly by efficient reception staff. The hotel was very clean, rooms were fine, Breakfast was of excellent quality, the bar was well stocked and staffed throughout the night. There were a number of other guests... more
Not good
I was very disappointed about this hotel, very old looking rooms, old equipment carpets look old. price £80 for double bed was too high and I would rather staid in B&B instead.
Awful in every way!
The room itself was very old fashioned and in desperate need of a refurb. The toilet seat was hanging off and the wood had cracked completely in half making it pretty painful and dangerous to use- I opted to use my brothers room. The tiles in in bathroom were loose as was the handle on the bath. The taps were really loose and in pretty bad condition. I complained about the toilet seat - but nothing was done to retify the situation and there was no apology. When we checked out I complained again and was offered a small discount for the... more
At least get the grass cut.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast, the only meal we had there, was good, ready on time (we needed an early start) and well presented. The facilities are not of the standard that we expected for the price charged. The room was gloomy and the furniture badly chosen. The bathroom was not well fitted. The grounds were hopeless. At least I would get a contractor in each week to cut the grass (it can't be described as a lawn) I felt very sorry for the goldfish swimming in a pond that is slowly silting up. Don't rely on the early... more
OK hotel - rooms are tired
We booked this hotel for one night only and very last minute so only twins beds available. The room was of an average size with a large window. The room was in definate need of a lick of paint and generally updating the bathroom even more so. We didn't shower in the morning as the bath seemed rather unstable. The bedroom carpet had burns on it and was frayed between the bathroom & bedroom. There was a wedding reception that night so dinner was available as room service only, but they did tell me this before booking. We checked in at... more
Friendly staff, good location
We stayed in 2 double rooms for one night. The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. We had a meal at the hotel at short notice with a group of friends. There was plenty of choice and the quality of the food was good. The rooms were clean with all the usual facilities, although there was a problem with the showers in both rooms - tendancy to veer from hot to cold without warning!
As a wedding reception venue, excellent. As a hotel, good.
Pleasant small town hotel in the countryside with good road and rail connections to bigger towns/London. Staff very helpful especially the manager, Richard. Accommodation varies, some rooms on top floor are huge, some a little smaller, but from what we saw, all were comfortable and clean. Some areas of the hotel are outdated and in need of refurbishment, eg the bar, lobby toilets and some of the bathrooms. I believe this is being done soon. Breakfasts very good and our wedding reception was excellent so I assume other meals would be good... more
Room was infested with bed bugs
Horrendous! When we checked in (around 6pm) the room we were given hadn't been made up. The bathroom was clean enough, but the sheets had a worn, greasy feel. I woke up in the morning to find large spots of blood on the sheets. I had no idea where it had come from (but subsequently learned that this is a sign that bed bugs have been biting you in the night). Several weeks after arriving back home we found we had a bed bug infestation, and traced them back to this hotel. They must have travelled back to our house on our clothing. I was... more
Hotel from Hell
Where do I start? We arrived at 5pm and the room was not ready in terms of cleaniness and had to wait half an hour. Even then it was rushed and we were given a single room with a double bed in it, the bathroom was awful the toilet had never been bleached and was black the shower heads were filthy and the whole room had a stench from smoking. We were shown another room slighty bigger but still with a smell of smoke and the same problems with the bathroom only this time when you flushed the toilet the trap in the bath overflowed - most... more
