MVC Eagle Beach

We stayed at MVC Eagle Beach Oct 15 - 21, 2006. We loved it! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged for us to rent a car and called for our taxi back to the airport. The only thing that was not great was the checkout time. It was 10 and our flight left at 4. Again they were very nice; they had a room next to the office that they let us lock our luggage up in until it was time to leave. We stayed at MVC Eagle Beach from Aug 30th, 2006 till Sept 3rd 2006, for 4 nights. This hotel is the best budget hotel that I've ever stayed. Its just fabulous there! Its located right across from the Eagle Beach, the most beautiful beach in Aruba. All you gotta do is cross the low traffic road to get to the beach. If your room is on the second floor you get and amazing view of the beach and the caribbean sea. The room was the right size, with an air conditioner, a TV, a small fridge and a has a safe as well. Yes my title is dramatic, but nevertheless it's completely true. If your looking for food in MVC you won't have any for breakfast, the Tulip restaurant is practically the only restaurant in the area (there are three) so your going to either have to eat at the Tulip every night, take the bus, or rent a car or walk a couple miles. A warning cab or bus driver knows where this place is so your either going to have to memorize the address and places around or refer to it as the Tulip restaurant. This is a great hotel choice for those on a budget. I stayed at this quaint hotel in May, 2006. It's across the street from Eagle Beach. Eagle Beach is a great, clean beach. The hotel was clean, but small. Has A/C. It's about a 5 minute drive from downtown Oranjestad. My stay included a free continental breakfast. The folks were nice. My husband and I stayed at the MVC Eagle Beach from July 2-10, 2005. We went to Aruba to celebrate our 7th anniversary and had a great time. We paid $60 per night which was just amazing compared to the prices of other hotels in Aruba, and in my opinion the MVC is across from the BEST beach in Aruba!!! Our overall Aruba experience was bad, due to being robbed, and dealing with their keystone kops afterwards (everything Beth Twitty Holloway says about them is true), so this colors the review, especially since the lack of working phones made dealing with the problem much harder. The MVC is a clean, simple, motel close to the beach. The restaurant is decent, the staff generally nice, and the location good. If you are looking for luxury and want to spend alot of money this is not the place for you. This is a great small hotel with comfortable and clean rooms, a friendly and attentive staff, a great and modestly priced restaurant on the grounds, and a price that can't be beat. Plus it is just across the street from the best beach (read quiet and not crowded) in Aruba. We would highly recommend this place. I just loved staying here, it is a small quite family oriented place - the staff is very nice, they treat you well and the food at Tulip (the hotel restaurant) is very good (try the T-bone steak). If you want to go crazy at night then you will have to either take a taxi or find somewhere else to stay because the hotel does not offer much chance for a party (I would recommend going to the "moonlight beach party" in town - it is possibly the weirdest and greatest party I have ever been part off). This small hotel is a great value for the money - we got $48 per nite thru Expedia. Includes breakfast. Hotel and rooms are clean - Food at the hotel (Tulip Resturant) was quite good and very reasonable - even bar tab was not too bad. Free internet access, free ice from bar, across road from Eagle Beach. Somewhat isolated. Eagle Beach has a lot of jet skis on Sunday, but is otherwise ok. Bring a cooler and do your own thing. Most clients of hotel are European, but everyone was very friendly. Would repeat for the value.

If you are coming to Aruba on your honeymoon trip looking for a romantic or somewhat luxurious place to stay at, or if you are coming with your family expecting resort-like entertainment, an activities menu and pampering, you will be better off paying triple the amount you pay at the MVC and go to a bigger hotel in the island. If you are, however, a practical couple or family on a budget looking for a clean and decent place to stay at, the MVC might suit your needs depending on what your expectations are.
