Bumi Ayu Sanur.... If you're looking for a haven that epitomizes all that is special about Bali.... this place is it. We have been to Bumi Ayu Bungalows now three times and still love it. The staff are great and the gardens beautiful. The bathrooms are a little tired though they have just renovated 4 bungalows that look very nice with all the modern appliances. It depends on what you want from an affordable holiday. We just want somewhere comfortable to sleep and a great pool to lay beside..

We love Bumi Ayu. We first stayed there the year it opened around 1993. Since finding Bumi have not stayed any where else. We have meet so many wonderful friends who return as we do.Think we are now up to our 18th stay at Bumi.[overall trips to Bali 32] The surroundings are very well maintained. We booked in for two weeks at the Bumi Ayu Bungalows however we stayed only two nights before transferring to the Bali Garden for the duration of our stay. The bungalow we were given was in dire need of refurbishment - especially the bathroom. The buildings themselves weren't much better. The grounds are really pleasant with lovely gardens and a quiet central pavillion for relaxing and also a nice pool area with a small pool bar that was always tended by friendly staff. Thank you very much for your attention and advice regarding the bathroom and others. Currently we are holding renovation for our facilities including bathrooms as well. It will look new and fresh in Balinese style. For our property location, we are not located near the beach front as we are more into deep heart of sanur 200 meters from the nearest sanur beach. Away from shop and clubs. Our property is more suitable for the eldery people and families, especially who wants to stay long for their holiday and enjoy relaxation, calmness and peaceful surrounding. We hope this matter will meet with good understanding and we do hope we could even improve more for our services to all of our clients.

We stayed at Bumi Ayu for seven nights in July Rooms were clean apart from some monstorous sized cockroaches but after a can of bug spray from the helpful and polite staff, they were no longer a problem after that night. Fridge made strange noises all night but you get used to it ( but if you dont, give it a kick like we did, it seemed to work) Pool never seems to close, or at least if it did, we were never asked to get out, even at 2 in the morning...good memories! Good budget hotel (and a visit to Palm Garden Hotel) from Harrier
We stayed at the Bumi Ayu for 3 nights in early March. The room was a little basic - sheets looked a bit tired and the bathroom needed re-grouting - but these were small details. Overall, it's very well run and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. We didn't stay at the Palm Garden Hotel but looked around it and thought that it was possibly a better choice. We have stayed in the Bumi Ayu hotel every xmas for the past 3 years and cant reccomend it enough - we are returning again for our 4th xmas this year. The staff are lovely. The rooms are clean and well maintained (we noticed new bathrooms last year). The surrounding gardens are absolutley beautiful and immacylately kept daily by the staff The swimming pool is perfect along with the pool bar serving lovely fresh juices and food. My family and I stayed at this beautiful hotel for 16 magnificent days from August 18 thru September 2, 2006. We found all the staff to be very courteous, helpful, and they went out of their way to cater to the guest's needs. My seven-year-old son loved the huge swimming pool. As soon as he would wake up, he would brush his teeth, call room service to order his breakfast, and then jump into the pool. This lovely little hotel is a secret oasis, just a short walk from the golden sands of Sanur Beach. Each of its bungalow rooms are nestled in manicured gardens. While relaxing lounges surround the crystal clear pool near the rear of the property. Do try its great restaurant to enjoy inexpensive meals served by friendly staff. Many of the guests we chatted with around the pool confessed to have stayed here numerous times. But please do not tell anyone about this secret oasis.

Our 12th visit to this little oasis in paradise; we would not stay anywhere else in Bali. We have met people from all over the world here, many of whom have become friends and, like us, are repeat guests.
