Elfordleigh Hotel

We stayed here for a wedding earlier this year and it was the perfect setting. The weather was supurb and the food was great. The boys all took full advantage of the golf course and us girls of the great wine list. The rooms were very clean as were the common areas, the staff were all very friendly. We have stayed at several hotels in devon but this is the first i have felt the need to write home about.

Stayed here in Feb whilst attending a wedding in the area. The reception was actually in the hotel. The room we stayed in was pretty big, and the bathroom was too. Guess we had a family room as included a double bed and a set of bunk beds. The light in the rooms is pretty good and they back out on to the golf course. All pretty standard but clean and quiet. This was a last minute get away over Easter weekend. Never been to Plymouth so thought it might be nice. This hotel seemed good value for money and relatively close to Plymouth itself, but with a countryside feel to it. Food and service in the brasserie/bar area were fairly good, if a bit pricey and not very varied. The atmosphere, however, was dreadful though. This hotel is ok.....staff are quite freindly....we only spent one night here, good for a one night stop over.

My colleague and I stayed three nights here on business. The building is a converted stately home, so the walls are a bit thin and you can hear people when they tramp up and down the corridors. Having said that, when it’s quiet, it really is quiet – you can’t hear a thing. We ate in the bar each night, plenty of choice on the menu and nothing to complain about. Had a fantastic time here, staff excellent, manager superb. Leisure facilities great, nice swimming pool. Big family room for 5. Breakfast great. Nice surroundings, nothing bad to say about this place. Definately recommend and would stay there again
