Grinkle Park Hotel

I was fortunate enough to have my wedding reception at this hotel in Dec '06 and stayed here again the following year for our 1st wedding anniversary. The service at the hotel was first class and the food delicious. The whole place feels like a real retreat and is perfect to escape from everyday life and relax! Both times we stayed in the honeymoon suite, which has wonderful views across the gardens and is extremely spacious and comfortable.

My husband recently took me to stay at Grinkle Park for a birthday treat and it really was a treat. From the welcome at which we were invited to sit by the fire and warm up while enjoying a complementary glass of sherry. I booked this hotel through laterooms.com. I chose it as there weren't many hotels in the area that had respectable review on tripadvisor. Having not stayed at the hotel before there was an element of trepidation. However, upon arrival, i found the hotel to be friendly, well maintained, and clean. Two night midweek break on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Our top-floor room was quiet, compact and feminine. It was generally very clean but the bathroom could have done with some attention; condensation seems to be a problem. Communal areas of the hotel, including the bar and restaurant, were stunning and very comfortable. The breakfasts were exemplary with a huge choice. we have just managed to snatch a one night stay away at the Grinkle Park Hotel to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. the approach to the hotelwas splendid via a long greeneried drive(we seen to have just missed the rhododendroms which had come to an end but must have looked magnificent) my initial observation was that it didn't look like a hotel, more a lodge, with no signage and a small reception area, but the lounge is extensive. the dining rooms are small but adequte and our room commondale was large and luxurious by most... more

Having read previous reviews of this fine establishment, I can only assume that some people are extremely hard to please. Our 2 nights was a superb break in the most beautiful surroundings, with the most attentive staff going out of their way to please, from the housekeeping to the management. Food left little to be desired and was magnificent in its presentation and flavour. We stayed here for only one night whilst visiting family in the area. We were all so impressed with what great value this hotel offered. The staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were traditionally dressed and felt very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant where again the service was top notch and the food was delicious. The hotel is located away from civilization which might not suit everyone but was perfect for us. We were looking for a lovely rural retreat and chose this fabulous Hotel - we were right to do so. It is a real dream. We heard about it from an article in April 2005's Shooting Gazette where the shooting estate was reviewed. We don't shoot but the Hotel was so peaceful we couldn't have hoped for a better hideaway. Well worth a visit.

This has to be the largest hotel room that I have ever stayed in with the exception of Las Vegas. I stayed here for one night and the service was fantastic.. no complaints whatsoever. The only downside was the hotel was very quiet, but that also appeals to some people. The room was about twice the size of a standard hotel bedroom and the bathroom was lovely also. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I was in north Yorkshire (super part of that world I might say *8-) )

I had a most fabulous short break at this hotel and urge any one visiting the area to stay there. The staff were so friendly and helpful, which I feel makes all the difference when staying away from home. The room was a delight, the generous breakfasts set us up for the day and relaxing over dinner in the evening just finished the day to perfection. We felt it was fabulous value, comparing very favourably to other more expensive hotels.
