Good Value Hotel
from HuntersGosport
A group of 8 of us stayed at the hotel 25-28 May 2007. Have stayed in a number of so called top hotels in Blackpool over the years and this is one of the best. All of our rooms were lovely and had recently been decorated. The food was great, the waiter service was excellent and very quick. The hotel is in the middle of being revamped but it never caused us any problems. The entertainment is a little dated but it does cater for the masses. The only slight niggle I had was our room was directly opposite the stairwell on the...

Stayed here with another couple on 16-19th March 07. Would definately go back here. The overall service was excellant, especially in dining area. Peter looked after us, very attentive, food excellant and never had to wait. In all the holidays and restaurants we have been to I can honestly say he was a star. The room was comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Chambermaid knocked on door every morning to clean room if required and offer fresh towels. Entertainment on the Friday & Saturday night excellant, Sunday night...

Geriatric City
from AllyDick2
My first experience of the Cliffs hotel was that it was very much suited to much older clientele e.g. 70s and older. It also seemed to be popular with families. There were problems with the booking. We booked online but were kept for twenty minutes at reception because there was a problem with it which was no fault of our own. The lobby of the hotel is very tatty indeed and it looks like the last time it was decorated was thirty years ago. The bar was very sombre and lifeless. The restaurant was busy but we didn't eat in it because there was...

Absolutely Fantastic!
from supercal1
Have stayed many times at the Cliffs Hotel, both with our children and with adults. The kids enjoy the kids entertainment and leisure facilities and always ask to stay there. The adult entertainment is great. Relaxed atmosphere and great food and service! Making a reservation is a doddle with the reservations staff very helpful and informative!!
what a dump
from redpaddys11
Have stayed at this hotel twice, but only as my girlfriend really loves the place! Have stayed both winter and summer, but no real difference except that the whole of Blackpool shuts down in October. Food is actually quite good, with plenty of it. Entertainment varies (laughable dancing troupe, comprising of 2 eastern european illegal immigrants), but some great comedians. Both times have stayed in impossibly small rooms, near the extremely noisy air-conditioning units. Have asked to be moved, but unable to as hotel full on both...

Better than last time.
from ice&lemon
We stayed here 3rd-5th Nov. We have stayed at the Cliffs a few times before with varying degrees of satisfaction, mostly caused by the excessive amounts of children staying at the hotel, many of whom are not very well behaved. This time there were not so many and seemed pretty good. We decided to treat ourselves to a suite this time, what a lovely room, so large with a comfy sofa and large screen tv. Overlooking the sea and the lights. Plenty of storage for clothes. Would certainly book a suite again. The room was serviced...

Great Food, shame about the smell
from slmgbr
We stayed at the Cliffs for two days on our 1st anniversary. The hotel is adequate but somewhat dated and in need of an overhaul. Our room had damp stains and this led to a mouldy odour in the room. I think that the room was ok apart from this. On the plus side the food is terrific and waiting is first class and the staff are friendly. I think it is great for the "blue rinse brigade" as there is plenty to do but if you are under 50 then it might seem a little like staying at an old people's home.
Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night in October 2006, and boy am I glad that it was just the 1 night. The hotel is very tired, dirty carpets and dirty walls in the reception and public areas. Our room was OK, but nothing special. We had a twin room which was quite large, but the bathroom was tiny, it was like being in a caravan bathroom! The room was not very clean, there were lots of curly black hairs in the bathroom and the curtains were hanging off the rail! When I tried to close the curtains they fell off the rail completely!!! I...
