Hotel Elite Saas-Fee

I meant to post this review last year but forgot!. This Elite Hotel is truely wonderful. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, but utterly effecient as well. The staff were all delightful and the service second to none. Although family run the dining experience was quite formal but relaxed and gave an air of sophistication. My wife and I and a 12 and 16 year old stayed here from 5th till 12th April 2008. Every aspect of our stay was great the food was excelent, the rooms well cared for and the staff more than freindly. The elite is well placed for town and has its own ski room or you can hire space near the slopes but its only a five minute walk. The veiws are great and many people return on an anual basis. Skiing in saas fee is great and Sybil and her team will advise you on best runs etc. All in all a great liltle hotel! sandy

The Hotel staff are really welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Sybille is always on hand and extremely helpful, giving really good advise on the slopes and which ones to ry first, which ones are icy etc. The Hotel is close to the slopes so walking to the slopes only takes five/ten minutes (depending if you have ski boots on!). We have just returned from Christmas at the Elite hotel in Saas Fee. Sybille and her hardworking team were very welcoming and we felt very much at home. The food is well cooked, varied and delicious. Vegetarian alternatives were provided for my 17 year old daughter, who said it was the best food she had ever eaten. Breakfasts were also delicious with a wide choice. The hotel is run by very friendly owner Sybille & her family. The room was very simple, but had all what one would need between the slopes & a sleep. Perfect location - 5-10 min walk to the lifts. Relaxing and calm atmosphere, the food was not too exciting but filling portions, nice deserts. There is a cosy bar / lounge area. If your priorities in a hotel are the welcome and convenient situation, then the Hotel Elite is for you. The proprietor, Sybille Meyer, really enjoys her job, and it shows. Her concern is for your comfort, and, unlike the larger hotels, the guests receive an authentic individualised attention The rooms are kept spotless (serviced every day) each one having its own balcony. A fantastic family run Hotel, situated about 7 minutes walk from the slopes, but there is a free ski locker in the hotel, or you can hire through Sybil, a locker about 30 seconds from the slopes! Sybil and her crew were magnificent, the hotel itself is warm and cosy, with an open fire in winter, the food was very good, always something new on the menu, we had a fussy 15 year old who was reluctant to eat anything except chips and pasta, but Sybil was always willing to go the extra mile, to get him to eat, even offering to make special meals... more

My husband and I stayed at the Elite for 1 week in March 2007. It's small (a couple of dozen rooms) and it felt like being a guest in someone's home. The owner, Sybille Meier, takes a real pleasure in welcoming guests, makes sure they're comfortable, and feeds them up with delicious home cooking. Stayed here for a week in Feb. First time in Switzerland, first time in Saas-Fee. Felt instantly at home in this hotel, Sybille the manager(ess) and staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble... Rooms: Fairly compact (twin room) with a small toilet and shower cubicle, not too much to complain about, but you may struggle in the shower/toilet if your a fatty. We stayed at the Hotel Elite, Saas Fee during Feb 2006 and had a good time. Hotel is basic but very welcoming and comfortable, and central to the centre of the resort. We chose to go for a room with a balcony, and compared to other places in Saas Fee it is good value for money. The room was fairly spacious, but fairly basic - you get no extras like boxes of tissues, TV, safe etc like you might in some hotels. We've just returned from a magnificent week in Saas Fee. The area is absolutely beautiful and we plan to return as soon as possible (hopefully March 2006) But I want to make a special mention of our accomodation.
