Hotel Steiner

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The Steiner family and excellent staff make your holiday thoroughly enjoyable. The only problem I had, is that we booked via Inghams and even although I had requested a room on a high floor ( 8 months in advance ) was given room 101, next to the lift shaft. It was so noisy and extremely small. Other guests who had previously booked with Inghams said that they now come independently because Inghams customers always get the worste rooms and it is definitely true. I stayed at the Hotel Steiner in January 08. I stayed for 4 nights for a short break and was thoroughly impressed with everything. From the moment you arrive and are personally greeted by Mr Steiner to the minute you leave and are each given Steiner Hotel Chocolate your stay is delightful. I have noted that other reviews have commented on the food not being up to standard but whilst not always to my taste I can honestly say that there was enough variety to select a nice meal. We did not believe Obertauern could offer anything significantly different to a 06 trip to Rigele Royal - but then we knoew Obertauern would not dissappoint! The Steiner STUNNED us! Our room was one of the suites [Taurnrunde] & as it was not clearly featured on the hotels excellent English/German web site we were a little suspicious - but there was nothing to fear. We stayed at the hotel Steiner over new year. It was perfect in every way from the first welcome as we arrived. Our room though not large was very comfortable and clean with a nice bath for soaking those aching limbs. The Steiner family are very hands on always helping to make you feel welcome an attitude that all the staff seem to have. The leisure facilities are amazing, some of the best we have ever enjoyed. My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week's stay over New Year at the Hotel Steiner and felt compelled to write a review - my first ever I must add! The service was faultless and yet you never saw anyone rushing around! It's all in the little details and every little detail has been thought of at Hotel Steiner. We went to Obertauern to get married, The wedding took place at the Das Seekar Haus Hotel but we stayed in the Steiner. The location was ideal, easy parking and excellent for the slopes. Our room was on the top floor and had an awsome view of the valley. It had a four poster bed and loads of room. The hotel had a fantastic boot room, large lockers with built in heaters to hang ski equipment. The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and very hard working. This was my first Ski holiday, and as sceptical as I was, I had a great time. Hotel: The hotel really was superb and you cannot fault the wonderful staff. Everyone is so friendly. My partner and I aren't the most chatty and tend to keep ourselves to ourselves, but I bet everyone comes away from that hotel with the staff knowing them by name, and you the staff in return - they really were wonderful. Once again we return home having had a fantastic week in Obertauern. Without exception every member of the staff does a great job. The owners of the hotel Thomas and Andrea Steiner are very much hands on and go out of their way to ensure that your holiday is one to remember. They are assisted by other family members in both the dinning room and bar which all give a friendly service. My partner and I stayed at Hotel Steiner as part of a skiing trip booked through the travel agent Inghams. The hotel has a great location with really easy access onto the slopes, afternoon ski snacks and good evening meals. Although we did not use the pool and spa these seemed to be clean and well presented and if you are not too busy skiiing, well worth a visit. The Stein Hotel sits right on the Danube, across from the old town of Salzburg. On the top floor a terrace restaurant serves reasonably-priced meals along with a spectacular view over the rooftops of the historic town to the fort above. The 360-degree facility includes a lounge. The hotel is currently being renovated, due to re-open with pricey rooms in 2005, but if you can not afford a room, you can certainly stop by for a drink or meal with a view. And don't miss the art nouveau rest rooms.
