Fair Stay for a Fair Price
Having rung round many hotels in Brighton and more specifically, regency square, we decided on the Prince Regent as it was the cheapest sea view double we could find at £75 a night. If you go on their website and look at the photo of room 204 and look at my photo of it too, i can tell you that there really is no more to the room than what you can see in the photo, just a small shower/toilet room!! it was very small, but i had sort of worked it out from the photo and also the fact that is was quite dated. but then, as i said it was the... more
the nice place for holiday
The service was very good, the room was very confortable and clean. we stay in the top of the hotel. your grand balcony room is the best + nicest room we have ever stayed in and we shall definitley be coming here agian.
Once bitten
Stayed here for the weekend. Prices charged are for a 5 star hotel but 5 star this hotel is not. The rooms we stayed in were small the carpets looked like they needed a good clean. The bedding and towels had an old and stale smell. the bathrooms were very smelly like the drains needed cleaning. The website stated the breakfast was full english but it was just ham cheese and a cold egg . This Hotel is in need of a complete renovation and update.
Only if you have to...
Small rooms, stale smelling bedding, everythings creaks so you will be disturbed, bathrooms are tiny. Only stay there once you've checked there's no where else. On the plus side, its in a good location with a cafe that offers great breakfasts one minute away on the sea front.
Thank you for a delightful stay
Thank you for a delightful stay. The hotel is beautifully restored to its victorian splendor. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We will be sure to stay again.
A wet weekend made worse.!!!!!!!!!!!
Well where do we start. My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights. We stayed in the very top of the hotel room 411 which was tiny. It was very dreary and looked a little unclean. The bathroom was also very tiny and very dimly lit. The light over the fire exit which was an exit into the next room! was very annoying. The phone didn't work and the bedding and towels smelt fusty. The main thing was that the website and poster in the room advertised a traditional english breakfast which we were told when we enquired they didn't offer. The... more
very dissapointed
My fiance and i stayed for 1 night at the prince regent hotel in february. we asked for a standard double room en suite, and the lady at reception told us it would be £85. as our trip was a spur of the moment one we did not really want to pay that much for 1 night, so we were about to look elsewhere in regency square, when she offered it to us for £65 without breakfast! we accepted. the room was at the very top of the hotel and was absoloutely tiny. the double bed and wardrobe just left enough space to walk round. the shower/toilet... more
A Shocking Waste Of Money
Having stayed here 15 years ago for our first weekend away, we decided to revisit for a romantic weekend away, only to find that they hadn't updated anything in the intervening years. The carpets were threadbare, the bathroom was circa '70s with an overhead shower in the bath you could only use if you were flat against the wall! The towels were nice and fluffy but the bedding was disgusting and very old. I though the continental breakfast had a good range but my husband was disappointed there wasn't a cooked option. All in all for £150... more
Vile Hotel avoid at all costs
Check in was slow as was check out. Only 2 people working in the whole hotel over what is supposed to be the busiest weekend in Brighton. The room was dark and dreary and very small. Stupidly they decided to put a massive 4 poster bed in the middle of it so there was no room to move. The fire exit has a sign saying fire exit keep clear so they blocked it with furinture!! The bed had stains on it and was not nice at all! The bathroom was dark and damp, the tiles were discoloured and broken, the paint work was peeling. There... more
my god never again!
booked up the prince regent hotel in a rush the morning of our stay, Big mistake! paid for the room on arrival, Another Big mistake! I have never seen anything like it in my life, blood stains on the wall, damp smell 70s decor and not enough room to swing a cat! And they charged us £90 for one night! We requested our money back straight away saying that we are leaving to find a better hotel, they just gave us some excuse about the manager not being there so they could'nt give us our money back. At this point my wife was close to tears... more
