As an all inclusive be aware, be very aware the food is not up to standard, Pizza pasta and fries as a choice for lunch is not acceptable. There were no clean towels available after 10:00 sunlounges had to be reserved by 07:30 or you didn't get one. There were not enough... more

I and my family just got back from Egypt after staying at the Sharm Plaza in sharm El Sheikh. What can I say...... if you are expecting a 5* hotel think again. If you are travelling to Egypt purely to visit the many tourist attractions, then this hotel would be perfect as you won’t be around and subject to the bad service at breakfast, the pool bar, lunch and dinner. Has changed from Crown Plaza to Sharm Plaza. Says 5* but only 3* from Ann100London
We stayed here for 1 week as a last minute booking, in a junior suite with balcony and sea view. The room 1128, did have a balcony and sea view but looked the same as all the other rooms don't know what made it a junior suite. Bathroom old but clean, cleaning staff were great. Tip the staff, if you want to after 2 or 3 days and you'll be fussed over, also write a note to go with the tip, helps them keep there job. My partner and I are in our room for the 4th day running. We both have food poisoning. Not surprising at all considering the hygeine standards ( or lack of ) in the 2 buffet restaurants. Those that have stated that things have improved here are wrong. The rooms are ok and cleaning staff lovely. But the food in the buffet restaurants is dangerous to eat. Well we got back today 01/10/2009 after all the bad reviews we really didn't know what to expect, we were thinking of cancelling but aren't we glad we didn't, yes, the hotel is only a three/four star, having said that once they have their new system under control it will be much better, our room was spotless and kept that way cleaned each day, the pool areas are extremely clean, all five of them,main pool filters replaced twice a day, the pool staff are great , we always had a sunbed (just drop the pool lads a quid and you get the same beds... more

Stayed on an all inclusive basis for 1 week fron 17th Sept 2009. Although the rooms and facilities are ok, they are nowhere near a true 5 star hotel's expectations. The worst part, was the service provided by the waiters in all of the hotel's restaurants. If you managed to get the correct food, or the correct drink, you were lucky. Now known as the Sharm Plaza this hotel was taken over three days before we arrived and the previous reviews were horrendous. However we had an absolutly fabulous time. The food was excellent with more choices than you could eat, it was nicely presented. The puddings/sweets were a work of art. and tasted even better. We have arrived back from the renamed hotel last night. We returned from the Crowne Plaza at the end of August after a 2 week stay. It was our first time in Egypt & I have to say we had a great time.
