Hotel Mezquita

If you're looking for a basic, clean room in a great location, the Mezquita is your place. If you're looking for a fancy room - then look elsewhere. We made a conscious decision to spend less on the hotel and more on the food and entertainment. Food wise, there's a great place called Rincon de Carmen on C/Romero 4 - 5 minutes away from the hotel. Arrived here after 2 days in a brilliant modern hotel in Sevilla and expected some thing special based on the reviews. What can I say other than If I had my time again I would use the NH Amistad. We booked this hotel directly and eveything went smoothly. The room was a good size quiet, clean but oh so basic. Despite being a 2 star hotel we paid more here than in Sevilla or Granada and this didnt include the hot and cold buffet in the other towns. We had a great, too short stay in Cordoba. The hotel lobby and breakfast room are quite lovely [see photos], and though the rooms are more utilitarian in decor, ours was certainly spacious, very clean and comfortable. It's right across from the Mezquita, and close to the old city centre. Excellent value, don't hesitate to stay here.

I had stayed at this hotel on a solo trip in December, 2001. I liked it so much that, when I took my wife to Spain in October, 2002, we stayed in this hotel in Cordoba. Since the proprietor knew me from the previous year, and since I told him that I was bringing my wife, he gave us the best room in the hotel; La Capilla, or the chapel. We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2006. The hotel is extremely well located, in the centre of all the tourist sites and literally 10 metres from the entrance to the Mezquita! The only downside is that there is no hotel parking, and the only undercover public carparking (safe) is located on the otherside of the city outside the old town city walls, and takes a good 15 minutes walk to the hotel. We followed TripAdvisor for this selection, and the only drawback had nothing to do with the hotel. So, first, the hotel. It's location in the old town right beside the Mezquita is fabulous. We had a balcony overlooking a side alley, yet there wasn't much noise. For the price the hotel is classy, with marble floors and a lovely courtyard. The room was very nice. This hotel is within touching distance of the Mezquita in Cordoba. It is clean and cheap; breakfast is adequate, and the rooms are ok, all have air con. Bathrooms a little old, but clean. Staff helpful. A good budget choice.

We had four nights at this hotel, mid-April. It's just ten paces from the entrance to the Court of the Orange Trees of the Mezquita mosque/cathedral! A bargain, considering the location and the quality of the accommodation. Breakfast of orange juice, toast and coffee OK value. We asked for a quiet room, which we got. It had a full-length window overlooking the internal court yard, which has a glass roof, so the room was a bit too warm at night (the air con was not very efficient). We stayed at the Hotel Mezquita at the end of November. The location is great and the price was too, but we were not very happy with the hotel. We requested room #10 like everyone had suggested on other reviews, and it was highly disappointing. It was a depressing little room with an undersized double bed. The mattress and PILLOW (there was only one!) were SO uncomfortable. It was very cold at night and even though we had the heat on high the entire night, it didn't warm up at all. this hotel is in a perfect location - near shops, restaurants and the mezquita, of course. For the price, it is excellent value. The rooms are clean and quiet and the shower is excellent. The staff is friendly and parking is really easy in a garage next door. I would stay here again and recommend it to people who want a high-quality budget hotel.
