Excellent Resort!!
My husband and I stayed at the Sea Garden from the 10th -17th of Feb. It was our 10 year anniversary, and we enjoyed the spacious suite, the pool activities, and the beach was a short walk across the street. The Rumba Cafe on-site was excelllent and the prices were reasonable. Our taxi driver was Jose Flores, and we met him the second day of the trip. He was very informative and he made all of our dinner reservations at the best restaurants in Acapulco for the week. I would recommend Coyucca 22, Su Casa, and the Linda Vista. All had... more
Wonderful/Relaxing!
At first, you may feel disappointed that you're not looking right out onto the beach, but this quiet oasis is just what we were looking for. Located on the strip of the best hotels in Acapulco. You will not want for anything, great service and people. One mistake we made was not calling ahead for a taxi to pick us up from the airport. Call the hotel two days before! A five minuted taxi from the airport will cost you $30. otherwise. It's only 115 pesos if you call the hotel, that's about $11.50. BIG DIFFERENCE. The tours the... more
Great time in Acapulco
My wife and I just returned from a vacation at the Mayan Sea Garden. We were there from 1/21/2006 thru 1/28/2006. It was a wonderful week. We were met at the airport by Sebastian (our Taxi driver)and taken to the Sea Garden which was only about a 10 to 15 minute trip. The facilities were great. We spent a lot of time in the pool area being in the water or just laying on the lounge chairs, or walking across the road to the Beach and playing in the ocean. The weather was perfect everyday, I'd say about 80 to 90 degrees. Sunday we... more
Great time at the Sea Garden
Stayed at the Mayan Sea Garden from 11/26-12/3. The hotel grounds and room were well cared for and clean. The pools and beach area were great for swimming and sunbathing. This is a low-key resort meant for relaxing in a quiet manner. The Diamenti section of Acapulco is not meant for those seeking nightclubs, discos and the like. It is family oriented with many of the guests from Mexico City or on a RCI exchange. The hotel staff is friendly and extremely helpful. Most of the staff understands English so it is not necessary to feel that you... more
Don't get scammed by R.C.I.!
Date: November 17th, 2005 Revieved By: Timeshare owner & R.C.I. member... My wife and I just returned home from The Mayan "Sea Garden" Acapulco, which was nice. Great weather, culture, beaches, restaurants, golf and diving. We are seasoned travelers having done so, all over the world. We chose this destintion on a "Last Call" from R.C.I due to the recent hurricane and airport closure in Cancun, Mexico. Our only real disappointment was that we had RESERVED, PAID and CONFIRMED our hotel at the "Grand Mayan" Resort Acapulco. Upon... more
Found a great Tour Guide
The first night we were there we ran into Sebastian a local cab driver at the Mayan Sea Garden. While this was my fourth trip to Acapulco It was the first for my girlfriend and her daughter so we did the total tourist thing. Sebastian took us around the city the first day seeing all the sites. Not only is his English outstanding but he knows the city better than most tour guides! We spent a day touring Taxco and I saw more interesting places there than any other trip there. The amazing thing about both days was that it didn't end... more
great place to stay
very nice resort first time in acapulco loved the sea garden you have access to the mayan palace the pools are great the food specially the morning breakfast buffet. The staff is very friendly and the resort is spotless they have maid service every day and everytime you call with a request the help you right away. I do recommend the resort great for families close to the airport is like 30mins from town but is worth the drive
Acapulco/Mayan Sea Garden
We just got back from one week in Acapulco. We spent one night at the Hotel Suites Alba and the remaining nights at the Mayan Sea Garden. We booked our first night at the Suites Alba on line through a service. When we arrived the front desk staff did not greet us. When I showed them my reservation confirmation they explained they did not have our reservation. After an hour, we finally decided to book rooms there and get on with the vacation. During our stay we discovered that we were the only guests from the States. We met some nice guests,... more
Sea Garden nice, but away from nightlife.
Myself and four friends went to the Sea Garden in May of 2004. We liked the Sea garden, but the resort is about a $10-$20 each way from the nightlife. The hotel does not even have a bar besides a pool bar that closes early like 6:00p. If you do stay here when you go into town ask how much before getting into the car. They will rape you otherwise. Also beware of the deep sea fishing. We had a cab driver hook us up on a good deal and had the worst experience ever.
Close to paradise
Left the record January snow of New England for the perfect weather, skies, ocean, pools and sunsets of Acapulco. Having stayed at the Mayan Palace and the Sea Garden, we prefer the latter. It is smaller, more private and has easy access to the Sea Market store. Have read complaints that it is "not even on the ocean," and while this is true, the 100 yards to the ocean is shorter than the walk from many of the rooms at the Mayan Palace to the beach. Given the shuttle to the MP for the use of most of its facilities (or the 20 minute walk on... more
