Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel

Just got back from a break at Lindeth Howe and i have to say that it could not have been better. From the moment you are greeted to the time you leave it has to be one of the best country house breaks around. We had a very nice room overlooking the gardens with the lake in the background,very picturesque. The spa is only small but is very clean and kept to a high standard. Organised a stay at this hotel as part of a surprise trip for my husband's 30th birthday. Neither of us was disappointed. Our hotel room (deluxe lake view) was spacious, despite an enormous bed and all the other hotel room essentials. The ensuite was well appointed with an amazing power shower and toiletries. I booked a dinner bed and breakfast package, which was definitely the right thing to do - the food at this hotel is wonderful. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights with our 11 month old daughter. They charge £9 a night for a cot(!) - so we took our own. The room was more than big enough to accommodate the cot and have plenty of room left to move around. The bed was enourmous and the shower hot. Everything was very clean and the tea tray was well stocked. Staff were very friendly and accommodating especially at breakfast. I used the gym equipment which is a little dated but functional. We stayed at this hotel for 1 night having read some good reviews. They turned out to be spot on and we were delighted with all aspects, from the spotless room to the cosy lounges and the superb food, both the dinner and the breakfast. The staff were very attentive without being over the top and we are already looking to book again fairly soon. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed with the quality.

Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel offer the best accomodation, food and relaxing atmosphere in the lakes. For a truly peaceful break, you cant do any better, a superb place to recharge the batteries. But take a good apetite because the food is out of this world. The breakfasts are excellent, the dinners even better. And they top it off with the most freiendly and helpful staff you could ask for.

I stayed at this hotel last weekend and thought that the place was very good. Make sure you get the Bed/Breakfast & Dinner package (Dinner was great). The place is cosy (I think there are 20 rooms or so), location is excellent (around 5 min drive from attractions) and staff are friendly and helpful. Facilities are excellent for a place like this. I found that the Mira power shower was exceptionally good (each have a built in pump). The room I had was Deluxe.

An excellent hotel which combines the feel of a traditional house (which it is) with up to date facilities. Everything in our spacious double room felt as though it had only just been completed and was brand new. Staff friendly and attentive. Dinner menu excellent but expensive at £34 per head. We ate in town on both nights we stayed. Location great. Gardens and public rooms very comfortable.

What a lovely hotel. i would throughly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys the finer things in life. The staff are very pleasant and can't do enough for you. The food is fantastic i would recommend you book your table prior to arriving or you may find it difficult to get in. The hotel is tastely decorated and has plenty of areas for you to sit and relax. It has it's own grounds with two ponds which very large carp. On the whole this hotel was 10 out of 1o and i will deffinatley be visiting again in the near future.

As my husband had never visited the Lake District, we decided to break our return journey from Scotland there last weekend (April 23/24). Having surfed the net I came upon a brilliant website advertising off-peak luxury hotels in various locations in the UK. They had a superb selection in the Lake District and we deceided on The Lindeth Howe as it was higly rated and offered a special 2 night package including dinner, B & B. Excellent hotel. Stayed there for the first time in March 2005. Great, friendly service everywhere, with welcoming dining room and wonderful food. Our room overlooked the Lake and was very clean and bright. Would definitely return again.
