Clair Hotel

My friend and I stayed at the Claire for a week in June and it was delightful! Since we had been to Nice before and stayed close to Place Massena, we thought we were going to be a far distance from the old town. But not to worry, it's a short and beautiful walk by the Port of Nice to just about anywhere. And if you don't like walking, there is now a tram nearby that can take you to major sights. This is a wonderful place and a relaxing retreat. Serene and unpretenious. We enjoyed the privacy of our own entrance to the room and the sunlit mediterranean garden - ideal for a glass of wine before heading out to one of the many local restaurants around the corner. The room was clean and comfortable and had a neat little kitchenette that we enjoyed using on the odd occasion we fancied staying in of an evening. Stayed a few times and cannot find another hotel in Nice which offers such good value for money and a warm welcome. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the courtyard a nice area to wind down. The owners are very friendly and full of helpful advice, won't be going anywhere else to stay in Nice but here! My last visit was for the Monaco grand prix and this is a great location for would be race goer's as on the main bus route out of Nice and close to the port which is full of bars/restaurants and a local supermache near by to stock up... more

My husband and myself have just returned from a week at 'Clair Hotel' Nice. The hotel was very reasonable priced so we were not sure what to expect. When I booked by email and telephone I found the owners very helpful and friendly. We had an apartment room opening out into a shared garden. We read all the reviews and booked, because the hotel was well reviewed, cheap and clean. We enjoyed the helpfulness of the owner Esther, the heating and the garden outside, but no one had mentioned the steps! There were around 20 to carry one's suitcase down from the entrance to our room below and then 26 outside, from our room to the garden gate for every trip outside! We stayed in Hotel Clair for a week this September! It was excellent, well situated for access to The Port and a short walk to the Old Town and Promenade de Anglaise. We chose to stay in a self catering room which was clean and had all the basic's needed to cook a simple meal,i.e, two electric rings, microwave, kettle etc. The Garden is beautifull and a peaceful place to sit whilst eating or just relax and read. Can highly recommend this accommodation for your stay in Nice, I recently stayed there for a week and thought it was great. Excellent location, just five minutes walk to the port area. The owners are a lovely couple who were there every day to answer any questions. Room was clean and comfortable and the courtyard area was perfect for eating outside or just relaxing. If I ever have the opportunity to return to Nice I won't hesitate to stay there again.

Just returned from a great holiday in Nice. Myself and my wife stayed at the Clair Hotel for five nights. It is perfectly located about five minutes from the port and a ten minute walk from the Playa De Anglais Promenade. The Hotel is spotless and the owners speak both French and English and are extremely accomodating and welcoming.The Hotel caters for all ages from people with young children to people in their eighties. This hotel is a little gem. It's only 5 minutes away from the seafront and port but is tucked away down a quiet street. The hotel was once a boarding school and all of the rooms open out into a peaceful courtyard which is filled with mediterranean palms - a great spot to have breakfast or to enjoy a glass of rose wine in the sunshine!
