Absolutely Wonderful
My husband and I decided on the spur of the moment to go away for the weekend and went to Fairyhill. What a truly lovely place. We arrived and had tea on the terrace in the sun. Then went for a walk in the grounds. Stream, lake. Very peaceful. Our room was a standard room, but had everything you needed and the bed was extremely comfortable (not your normal rock like mattress) Fabulous stereo, TV/DVD, lovely bathroom. Fresh flowers and fruit in the room. The food was fabulous, could not fault it. The staff could not have been more... more
expensive but worth it
We had our wedding reception here 6 yrs ago and went back for a anniversary. Remains quiet, beautiful and relaxing. Staff great rooms individual and food fabulous.... but the wines are our fave!
Superb Hotel in a beautiful Area
The hotel is located in the countryside in the middle of the Gower Peninsula about 25/30 mins drive from Swansea. We` stayed there for a week with a perty of 8 and enjoyed it very much. The bedrooms were well appointed and individual. There`are standard and superior rooms. The Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. Staff are very helpful. The hotel reatuarant provided superb food with a good choice all freshly cooked. There are other Pubs and restaurants in the area but we only needed to eat out on one occasion. There are... more
Above average but not outstanding
My wife and I, plus my elderly mother and thirteen-year old daughter had an evening meal here on 22 Aug 2006. We stayed elsewhere and so cannot comment on the accommodation. The atmosphere was welcoming, service was good, food was enjoyed by all of us - the menu had enough choice for all of us to get something we liked. The service was good, albeit somewhat relaxed. We had no difficulty in communicating with the staff who seemed to be native English speakers, something of a rarity in Gower these days where most most catering staff seem... more
Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant.
We stayed at Fairy Hill for five days and found everything perfect! Indeed, if I were to describe our time there fully I would run out of superlatives. We have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels all over the world - some more 5 star than others- and frequently use "TripAdvisor" but this is the first time I have ever been prompted to write a review. I do so now because now we enjoyed our stay so very much. The sevice was excellent : friendly, effecient but, as all good service should be, unobtrusive. The grounds and rooms were a... more
A Place of Natural Beauty.
We stayed at the Fairyhill for 2 nights in July on a tour of Gower. We had been recommended by some friends & we weren't disappointed. The pleasant friendly atmosphere was wonderful. The service was second to none. The food was good & the wine list - 330 to choose from! Unlike any hotel I have ever visited - when you leave your room to go for breakfast - the maid is notified & your room is clean upon your return. Your bed is turned down each night & towels replaced morning & night. Fresh fruit & water in the room daily. We were... more
Good food but nothing memorable, best in Wales?
We ate at the FairyHill restaurant and spent a pleasant eveing afterwards chatting to guests there, its a bit on the high price side so we slept at Swansea at the Encore. FairyHill is more like restaurant with rooms and reconned to be best food in Wales. A warm welcome after my disabled wife negotiated the shingle around hotel, no disabled parking provided. Sat on terrace non English speaking staff made drink order amusing but produced a Guiness for me. Nibbles were again unknown due to language barrier but very fishy. Comfort and atmosphere... more
Perfect in every way!!
Excellent!! Wonderful place, food, wine and staff. Will definately be returning!
Just perfect
Stayed at Fairyhill 3 times now over the last 4 years. it is always a treat as the house is in a stunning position and the food and wine are wonderful. If you book mid-week when it is quieter they will invariably upgrade your room to one of the larger ones. Food is always top notch - my girlfriend is vegetarian and looks forward to going to Fairyhill as compared to some hotels where veggie food is an afterthought, thet really seem to cater for all. Don't miss afternoon tea with homemade biscuits or the cockles for breakfast -... more
Luxury at the heart of the beautiful Gower Peninsular
Fairyhill is a haven of peace with a wonderfull restaurant attached. The wine list is about the best I have ever seen. Give it a try. Its not cheap - but its worth every penny.
