A little tired
Stayed at this hotel for a big party and was a little dissapointed. It has a lovely little bar area with comfy sofas close by. However this turned out to be the best area in the hotel. It could do with a bit of updating, particularly with regard to the water supply. When I turned the shower on the cold water pressure was fine, however as soon as I turned it to warm the shower fizzled out to a single drip and ended up having to have a bath. The room as a good size, although a little quirky in that you walked uphill to the bathroom! The... more
Not so Great
Great location just across from the castle. Staff seemed unprofessional. Room size good although water from tap comes out orange with bits so don't have a bath. Breakfast reasonable. Warrick was disappointing but surrounding area provided enough to do. Would recommend a slightly more modern hotel.
Charming and great location
We arrived with no reservation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy to get too in the middle of the block. Only a few rooms left...we had a small but clean room at the back of the hotel. The price was right too. Something like 60 pounds. The breakfast was good and included in the price. For TWO!! Nice common area and a great loacation so you can walk to everything. Shops, churchs, pubs and Warwick Castle. They let us park almost all day in their lot while we went site seeing. I would stay here again..but have a reservation.
excellent stay
i recently had the chance to stay at the lord leycester it was excellent. The staff are so nice and helpful it really was the best i have experienced. the Manager has a lot of new staff and has trained them up to the highest level. The food was excellent and the bedrooms were tastefully decorated and clean.the only problem i had was i couldnt stay longer
Fairly standard hotel experience
This is a fairly standard hotel that we found ourselves in when everywhere else was booked! Public areas a lot better than bedrooms from what we saw. I had booked a superior room, being told they were larger than standard rooms. WHen we arrived, it seemed more like stepping into a very small broom cupboard. In fairness when I politely complained, I was given understanding glances by the staff and they organised a discount immediately - I suspect this is not the first time it happened! Staff were fairly friendly and food good. Would... more
Great relaxation
As a regular user of hotels i have had good and bad experiences. This was definetely a good experience. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was well decorated in keeping with the general feel of the hotel. The restaurant was a peaceful well presented room with staff to match. overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay
Class of its own
After getting lost in Warwicks many one-way streets i decided to call the hotel for a little help, I was passed on to the duty manager who gave clear and direct instuction on the right road to take, In minuets i was there. I was greated with warm smile i was checked in very quckly, I was asked if i would like to make a reservation in the dining room and offerd help with bags. First impressions were very good. The hotel is an old building but is kept in good repair and was very clean (including bedroom). I decided to try out the knights menu... more
what a great stay
i had the great honour of stayin at this hotel on a recent trip to england. The staff were excellent and the rooms were of a good standard. Special praise must go to the manager who had reently took over, it was a great stay and if i ever go to warwick again i wil deffinately be goin back to this hotel.
3rd world bathrooms!!!
This hotel is one of the worst hotels I've ever had the misfortune to stay in!! Being an old building the floors tend to lean a bit, which meant my bed was on a slope too - very uncomfortable. The bathroom was positively 3rd world in standard. Small, cramped and mildewed. There was a problem with the the hot water, and after 10 mins of running the tap I resigned myself to a cold shower. I went to ring reception and tell them about the water, but the phone didn't work either! Breakfast was little better. My egg was freshly cooked, but the... more
Quaint and Quirky
This is a great hotel, the staff are as friendly as I've met and the food is excellent, you have a choice of two restuarants, Knights and Squires, the service is promt and efficent, the rooms are good and the decor fresh, I travel a lot and stay in Warwick frequently and this has to be my favourite hotel in the town as it is a very old building with a lot of history it is also close to the town centre and railway station. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did.
Good venue, terrible organisation
The hotel is pleasant and the standard is good, the venue is ideally situated in the Centre of historic Warwick. I have however, encountered various problems with the administration of the hotel. I found that the staff were incompetant in that regard.
