The Hope Anchor Hotel

I had booked the Hope and Anchor Hotel as a romatic break on Valatines day afer being let down by another hotel, Boy was I glad to be let down otherwise i would not have found this little gem. Situated on a charming cobbled street overlooking Rye it has the perfect location to explore the town. The staff are very atentive and friendly the food was superb the accomadation is excellent, well worth a visit, we will be comming back for sure.

We enjoyed a three night break in February which was excellent value for money. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The facilities in the rooms were good too. The whole hotel was warm and comfortable. The food was excellent and well prepared. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We would hope to visit HopeAnchor again and would recommend it. Perhaps a larger lounge area would make the hotel even more enjoyable when full of guests.

We had a throughly relaxing and enjoyable stay in The Admiral's Appartment, which was great. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. For a quality retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life I couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

we just stayed overnight at this hotel,and after checking out all the previous reviews we decided on staying here. The hotel is in a lovely spot with beautiful views for the most part,and parking was easy,we were given a permit,so could just park on the cobbled street outside.I found the french reception lady very sweet and helpful and welcoming,and we were shown to our room (the captains cabin)..the room was just ok. infact pretty grotty!.the bathroom was basic and of 2 star standard. dont get me wrong everything works in this hotel and... more

My Wife and I stayed just for the one night whilst we were on business in the area. The hotel kindly upgraded us as we could not stay for breakfast (first breakfast at 8.30am which was a bit too late for us) to the Jolly Roger room. Beautifully equipped and decorated. Staff were very helpful and it was only a shame we could stay for one night.

We recently stayed at the Hope Anchor Hotel after reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. We stayed four nights dinner, bed and breakfast in the Admirals Apartment which is situated across the road from the hotel. The apartment was lovely and spacious and was very comfortable indeed and being on two floors had excellent views from the bedroom out across the marshes to the sea. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The food was amazing, the staff friendly, helpful and obviously well trained, and the room spacious and comfortable. It was in a great location for views and strolling to town and, despite limited parking at the hotel itself, there was no real problem. Excellent value for money.

A very good three night mid-week stay in a comfortable hotel in an attractive part of Rye. The food and service were excellent and the staff all very friendly and helpful. We will return!

I stayed here for 2 nights and although the hotel itself is OK when we checked out the price charged was not the price that had been quoted. As I had no written proof (although they did not either!) they charged the higher price to my card. I was very disappointed that they seem to be able to change their prices upwards without informing their guests and when I tried to discuss this with them hit a blank and slightly hostile wall.

I booked the Hope Anchor for a business visit to nearby New Romney. The hotel were very friendly and helpful when I made the reservation and also on arrival. I had a very small room which was comfortable, although some of the furniture had clearly seen better days. Likewise for the price (£75) I would normally expect to see more complimentary toilettries. Rye is clearly an expensive town with numerous restaurants, so it's not for the budget conscious. However the town is very pretty and the hotel is charming. I had no problem... more
