The Place is Worn
The Queen's is in need of further refurbishment, a number of rooms have had some kind of upgrade. Our first room didn't look like it was one of those. The room had two cracked windows, broken sash cord, scale stains on the carpet around where the radiator had previously leaked. The furniture in the bedroom was battered/chipped, the drawers and doors did open though! dust on every place possible. There was a clock radio attached above one of the beds the controls were missing so it wasn't much use. The bathroom was in need of... more
Never again
Decided to stay an extra night in Eastbourne and the previous hotel was fully booked. Saw the Queens had a car park so decided to give it a try. The lady on reception was very helpful. Unfortuntely when we went to room it hadn't been hoovered so i then had to ask them to find housekeeping to clean it. Was told housekeeping had probably gone home - to which i replied anyone with a hoover would do! In fairness housekeeping did come straight up very apologetic and sort room. We went out for dinner as there was no menu in room to book a... more
Great room but...
Stayed here for 4 nights in a large sea-view room which was comfortable and satisfactory with great views but in urgent need of a major refurbishment. The hotel and staff were otherwise satisfactory except with regards the treatment of our complaint of serious sleep disruption caused by noise from the night-club on the pier opposite which existed every night but was particularly bad on the Wednesday and Saturday nights.
great value,great receptionist
having booked to stay at the Eastbourne, found that it was not what we expected. So tried Queens, very helpful staff, viewed the room, nice and clean, spacious but a little dated. My partner described the breakfast room as a bit like work due to the age of our fellow visitors (she is a care worker), unfortunately the waiting staff had little english, but nice breakfast. Not bad for a south coast hotel. If you like victorian/edwardian architecture u will love it. great view of pier from our room.
Loved the decor
We stayed at the Queens through a coach holiday with National. The hotel has just recentlybeen refurbished into the style it was built reallygood decor the staff where all very helpfull the rooms where clean plenty of hotwater for showering, the rooms where nice and warm and comfortable, the food was good you had plenty of choice even if you are a vegie you where catered for, the entertainment was on every night allthough it catered for the older person but still entertaining. The only downside was that there was somebody in a wheel chair in... more
Surprise
Went to Easbourne to watch Football and decided at the last minute to stay in town over nite, drove along the seafront, saw the Queens Hotel had rooms available ( and they had an onsite car park). From the moment we walked in we were treated with courtesy and helpfulness. The majority of the other guests were over 60. The bar man (a Scot) was excellent, the priced for drinks were very reasonable. Our room ( it was almost the size of a suite) was functionally furnished with tv, hairdrier, trouser press, tea/coffee making ,The only slightly... more
Huge room fantastic view
Stayed at Queen's at the end of June. Weather was terrible but the hotel was excellent. Very friendly staff. Some problems with heating but staff very helpful. Booking again for September
Great view
A traditional seaside hotel, can highly recommend room 408 for the superb sea views. Friendly staff, clean room, large bathroom. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
Excellent Value
This hotel is on the seafront and has its own carpark in front which guests can use free of charge. We hadn't booked previously so we popped in on the offchance. I found the receptionist very friendly and she let me check out the rooms beforehand. The rooms (on the fifth floor) were excellent - spacious, clean, comfortable and with a sea view. The single had a shower and the double a bath/shower and there were tea making facilities, a colour TV with freeview and radio. The corridors have the creakiest floorboards in the world but we heard no... more
